Yep, I'm using TS3 with the bundled overlay (TeamSpeak 3 Overlay plugin) and it works just fine. Takes a little bit to figure out how to activate and configure it, but afterwards it's great. I can see everyone who's on, and it highlights who's talking. I can even drag people from channel to channel (we have a channel for each flight of our FSO squad).

Select it from the list of plugins, and click the settings button. Here's how mine is set up (using 'default' profile):

-Overlay Tab:
--Enforce loading checked
--everything under the "retry injection" is checked

-Display Tab:
--Initialization mode: Normal
--Positions, whatever you want (it should change as you move the overlay in-game)
--The three popup options are checked (personal preference)

-Colors Tab:
all personal preference

-Input Tab:
--neither option checked
--activation key: scroll lock

-Extended Tab:
nothing selected

YEha If I have overlay enabled  it will crash the game.  Guess I have to fiddle around with it.

It used to crash mine too. I had to start AH, then Alt-Tab to desktop to start Teamspeak, then Alt-Tab back into AH and it worked fine. After I upgraded from Vista to Win7, I can start TS first, then start the game just fine.

It's a bit flaky.  I've had it range from not working, to working with limited functionality, to working perfectly on my system.  If it's giving you trouble, the first thing I'd suggest is setting the locations for the windows of the overlay to low numbers so they're close to the top left corner.  I've had it cut out if stuff was stretching out of the monitor resolution bounds.

The 78thFG uses TS everyday....We have a few folks in the squad who are using the  TS overlay...

.... and then the patch (for the OVERLAY...  NOT the game) came so they naturally said yep.. to the patch...which brought it to Version 3.0.6

Then they could not see the overlay and TS gave them minor fits....

Took us a while to figure it out but the TS Overlay patch was for a 64 bit systems... and they did not include the 32 bit version..... the latest version is 3.0.6

SO if you have a 64 bit you are probably FINE..... but if you have Win XP (maybe Win7) with 32 bit you will need to revert BACK to the 3.0.5 version.

They Removed TS version 3.0.6 and DID NOT install the last patch....

This fixed our Squaddies TS Overlay issue & has been running fine since.

(No other issues were noted..like crashing the game....That I remember.)

you can PM me  if  needed,  we've been using TS for 6-7+ years now....

It's great for inducing lag when you key up.

Icepac,

I have seen folks warp and lag when I reach a certain distance.  Although, some people might do just about anything, I have found that the most accurate reason why this happens is because of your system trying to load the skin or possibly the other plane's system trying to load your skin.

The more we try and push our systems to their limits, the more we find that we have overstepped them.  I have found that it is much better to reduce the majority of the eye candy in game.  I film the important moments, and then I have a way to trick the filmviewer to thinking it was filmed with all of the eyecandy turned on.  So, I get really nice looking films and smooth gameplay.  Also, less complaints about me cheating.

Bottom line, our whole squad uses TeamSpeak and have never heard a single complaint about lag induced from any of those opposing us.  To add to that we are a chatty bunch, so maybe your explanation would be that we are constantly in a lag.  ;)
