It was the neighbours teenage daughter. It's her birthday, she's 18 and they are having a barbeque on Sunday night. She apologises in advance and hands us two bottles of wine and some sweets (candy) for our boys.
We tell her it's no problem and we laugh because we're not such old fogies that we'll complain and turn out the cops. It will be quite a party if even the neighbours deserve two bottles of wine!
It does give me a warm feeling about the younger generation, who are often derided as selfish. That has not been my experience generally.
Now I do think her parents have an input, her Dad's English and he does fit the cliche of the polite Englishman but it does give a warm feeling.
But sometimes us old gits don't give the younger generation the credit.

That's kinda what parents should be there for. :) Good on the whole family for that.

by reading these comments what conclusions do you take in your generation now? :)

She has a nice way of saying "we are having a party, and you aren't invited". :)

Man, I thought she had an 18th birthday presentfor you :aok

She (or her parents) did the smartest thing possible...
If you want to keep the neighbors happy, invite them to the party or ply them with their own booze, in advance. :aok

You guys are sick. I have a nearly 18 year old daughter and some of her little 18 year old friends..............Hmm, Never mind.

My neighbors two daughters thru loud parties when they were teens. They never bothered me cause they were like funerals compared to the parties we were throwing back in '75. :lol The drunken motorcyle races in the alley were usually just a warmup.

A better question would be how old are your boys and did they get any ideas? ;)

Give them a chance they're only five and three...........although the five year year old does have a couple of 'girlfriends' older than him.
My party went great though, no idea what happened next door :aok Wasn't feeling any pain myself!
