It looks kind of like a carvin v220 but the body is reversed and the neck is different.
Prototype?
A Dean guitar maybe?

Thanks Jigsaw.
I wonder why it has such a similar shape as the carvin v220 except reversed?......or why there are so many manufacturers who have a guitar with this semi-ugly body shape?
reversed carvin V220.....which wasn't much of a jump considering they make the v220 in lefty.

Welcome. Late 80s / early 90s were an interesting time for rock guitars. Lot of companies were copying popular crazy body styles. I think EVH started that particular look by cutting up a Gibson Explorer. Carvin copied that with the V220, Hondo did the 775 and the more extreme looking "Death Dagger", a few others jumped on the bandwagon. Jackson also had the Kelly body, but it didn't catch on as well as the ESP, possibly because of Metallica getting the ESP endorsement deal.
ESP has come under several lawsuits. One from Jackson over the headstock. One from Gibson over the Explorer body. Shame, as I really liked the old headstocks. If I ever add another ESP I'll either have to find another older used one or get a custom order (ouch) with a Strat headstock.

I think EVH cut up an ibanez destroyer.
That hondo Michael Jackson is holding looks like pretty good quality.

ESP wasn't just Metallica. They also championed active pickups and locking machines in many of the guitars back in the day. Yeah, I have an ESP eclipse from before they got sued by Gibson. FYI I think you can still get 'new' ESPs with the jackson head-stock style without going custom... I have a custom one I got in 2002 with it (granted it was custom).
