Is it too much to have static friction on carriers such that if you land before it starts turning, then it starts turning after your plane is stationary, you don't just slide off?
-
you mean if you are stationary on a cv your airplanes falls off the side? or do you see other planes moving off the cv then back. if it's the later it's due to lag or something like that but on their end they are on the cv and you arent.

This only happens when the plane that's on the CV is not on it's wheels.

Reminds me of FSO a long time back when me and a squaddie tried to land after a grueling long hour and half flight back to the CV, only to land in f6f's to get thrown in the air after we touched down and over the side of the ship.

It got me last night... took 3 kills with it too.
Touched down with power up, hook down, and brakes on. Complete stop. Carrier turns... off the back I go. Makes no sense to me.
-
I don't use the hook and this has never happened to me.....even with rearming a ar234 on the cv
-
Ya I was going to say it sounded like the "hook bug" people complain about. If you lift the hook as soon as you stop it won't happen. If you leave the hook down it acts as if the arrestor cable flings your plane off the deck as it retracts.

How on earth can you A. stop and B. take off again without ripping wings off on the island :headscratch:
-
Taking off is easy.
It's the two U-turns you have to make that are hard.

slightly throttle up and you will roll back to the end of the carrier, then full throttle with wep and BOOOOM you are in the air.
Or in my case the tower because you forget to use rudders and slam into the island.

The ar234 does not reverse like the other planes.
Thank's for playing.
