I thought this would be a good idea because it was invented in WWI and used in WWII and Since this is the WWI and WWII sim I thnik it should be added
-
They are already part of the model.

i understand fighters used both incendiary and ap rounds in addition to tracers.

By late 44 I beleive almost every US air group using the 50cal had moved to API only. You could not really aim with a tracer becasue the actual round was ahead of the bright blob of light. I think our tracer in the game operates more like a plasma arrow.
-
Tracer = weak incendiary, wish granted.
And besides that, what would incendiary rounds do in AH? More damage? Sounds like a "wahhhh, game too hard" whine when you actually think about it. 'can I have my guns do more damage?' you would shoot it down so fast it would make the Op's head spin if he phrased the request differently, even if it asks for the same thing.
-
If we don't have incendiary rounds then how does my Zeke keep catching fire? :neener:
-
I am now curious to what the exact ammo load out are in our planes. Didn't the US PTO planes start using primarily incendiary rounds after mid 42 because the quickly figured out how flame-y Japanese planes were? Wasn't the ammo loads in the ETO more AP/HE based due to the armor of the planes there? :headscratch:

definitely trolling.
whats worse is you are trolling a kid who pays $15 a month to play and support the game. unlike you ...
-
Hey, I had an account for over 18 months at one point when I was unable to play. Couldn't use it, but still had it.
And I'd have another account if I had access to an AH-capable computer right now.

No armor the Japanese planes were sitting ducks

Have you looked at your 20mm hizooka rounds, 1 shot garbage in this game...

Before you post make sure what you post is accurate. Not all Japanese planes lacked armor, it was mostly the IJN fighters that didn't have armor to save on weight. The IJAAF fighters usually had armor and self-sealing fuel tanks.

I beleive the standard round for the 0.5 inch browning used in aircraft was API for both the U.S. and Britian. Tracers were being discontinued in fighters by late 44. Tracers in our game are helpful to micro adjust your bullet stream once you have contact or while missing by a narrow margine.
Penetration at 0 degrees.
MM----Range
20-----200
18-----400
16-----600
15 inches of packed sand at 200 yards.
Note: I dismatle tested an A6m5, HurriC and Brewster from 100 yards with a P51D.
I started with the outer wing panels and rear of the plane aft of the wing trailing edge. Shooting those areas is futile and takes a while to cause any perceivable damage with 50cal. I expended hundreds of rounds in single taps to eventualy remove the wings and tail surfaces. I was still able to place rounds aft of the wing root and the planes kept flying. A single tap forward of the wing root killed the aircraft.
In a additional testing tapping the trigger aiming into the wing root started a fire. Shooting into the fuslage forward of the wing trailing edge causes oil leaks, fuel leaks or kills the pilot.

wow that was in English :bolt:
-
he said pull the trigger and move plane side to side and up and down.

but infront of or on the wing root :old: He tested all this on a sand sculpture at 200 yard I think it was a mustang

No I ran around the living room shouting piu, piu, piu while I let my wife use a paint ball gun to shoot me in the arms and legs until I couldn't take it anymore. We all know what happens body mass in only jamies.
