Droop snoot maybe?
-
Yep think it's a droop snoot. I imagine it's meant to suggest Stewart's character took some photos from the nose of one. B24 pilots always making up stories :)

Yes droop snoot 38. Actually the bombsite is housed in there. This bird flew lead with other heavy 38s and when this bird dropped ords all birds dropped. Had a 2 man crew.

I think HTC needs to model this plane, then the 80th would have a suitable place to stuff ole shuffler when he's fueled on hightest margaritas.I wouldnt trust Shuff's aimpoint tho, likely drop ords on corky's head! :devil

The picture in the movie is really distorted, but I'd have to say it is a Pathfinder P38. The nose looks solid from where I'm sitting but historically they tried to disguise them with different paint to make them look like normal P38s.

If you watch the movie on TV you have a better image. Also, you will see that photo well over two dozen times throu out the movie.

It is the photo on the wall. If fact, compare it to slash27 second image, it is the exactly the same P-38 photo. WGT, Slash.
