i dont know if its the type of game play these days or what but it just doesn't seem like anyone is interested in a squad like LTAR these days.
we started out strong and hard with LTAR down to a few active members again an no one wanting to join a unique squadron like LTAR, makes it kind of hard to accomplish anything.
I have tried my best to bring this great squadron back to life. I have failed in that attempt.
I have chosen to disband LTAR and let it die with the respect it deserves, instead of keeping it the way it is now. I know LTARmoil CO and Founder of LTAR would not be happy with the way LTAR is to this day. i now understand the frustration and stress wojo was going thru.
this was not easy nor something i wanted to do. however i feel it is needed.
Salute to everyone for your vote of confidence it was truly appreciated
as of June 29th 2012 L.T.A.R. has closed its doors.
i cannot speak for my squadies but i can put my name on the line for them. each one that was left are GREAT people and GREAT at every aspect of the game.
sorry if this upsets some folks

LTAR were always a great fight, especially in ground battles.

I remember a time when the LTAR's were the squad that everyone hated because
you guys kicked butt.
Sorry to see the LTAR's done.

Very sorry to see The LTAR's go. I always enjoyed flying with them when it was an all Bishop squad. The BOP's and the LTAR's were two of the biggest squads in the game a few years ago now I see very few of ether, too bad. <S>

I do remember a time when the LTAR's would storm a field and nobody could mount a defense good enough to stop them.
Even IL-2's with the lovely F3 view (sorry Ghi) had no chance since they would simply blast you with Osti's from 2k out.
Ah the good times, <S> Ltars

:salute Many Good Fights with the Ltars.
Sometimes you can't bring back the glory days. Just need to move forward. :bolt:
-
My best feat to date was sneaking an M3 into an LTAR defended vfield after the attack had been called off due to you guys killing us in our faces repeatedly.
Nothing but dumb luck on the timing, but it was super intense.
<S> You guys were the ones to beat on the ground.

Sorry to see another noble cartoon squad fade down memory lane.

:salute
Always enjoyed fighting the LTARs.

So sorry to here Kilz :salute

:salute Kilz and LTAR, much deserved respect from me bro. I fear that much of what has become of the old style of play has been replaced by the NOE mission base roll (just my honest opinion).

:salute LTARkilz How have you been over the years? How's LTARmoil, LTARifle and LTARaptr. I know personnal issues came down hard.

As someone who enjoys a good cartoon tank fight, this was the squad to run into back in the day. I remember attacking v-bases and hearing the crys come out " Theres a damn Ltar-d down there in his ostiwind". :uhoh Other nights checking out a flashing town(old box style). Finding 5-8 Ltar-mongorians taring down my city whall! Good times!
With the remods of tanks and towns, stupid hills and wheelcarts flippin your cartoon box tank over. People sitting behind spawns to manipulate there score. 10 enemy tanks firing at you as you spawn in to the one good existing tank spawn on your side of the map.30 minute drive to an enemy field/town *Rant over*
It's good to have known that there was a dedicated tanker squad that was willing to attack ,or defend you for a base. Doing what they liked to do best and pissing people off in the process.
Cheers to you LTARS

The LTARs is what the game needs to stop the hordez! :old:

LTAR will always be remembered.

Ltars were always fun to fight and fight with :salute :salute :salute

I haven't subscribed for a while, but can tell you that the LTARS rocked.
Each and every time time I came across an LTAR in game I said the same thing..."EEK! An LTAR!"
Great bunch.
How about you don't totally disband, just keep the name alive, ...more will come of that I am sure.
Class act squad from top to bottom.
<S>
Oh, and I will be back, and I hope there is an LTAR or two left to fight with.

Back in the day when LTAR were a Bish squad I don't ever remember them in anything other than Ostis and always on base defense. That's why the name was LTAR (Lead To Air Ratio for the uninformed). I remember many a day sitting with them in my own Osti.
IIRC at some point in time they decided to switch countries and that was the beginning of the end. It was too bad because they were and will remain legends in the game.
No offense Kilz but anything other than the Osti base defensive roll as a Bish squad wouldn't have properly upheld the legend that the original guys built. :salute to LTAR.

I can remember the long hard fought battles between the LTAR's and Ace's & 8's. Man those were some great battles, too bad there are no more like that. <S> LTAR's!!!
-
Just in case should the LTAR's rise from the ranks of lost squadrons, we'll leave a light on. :)

....and that's is the biggest problem with the game now, people just want to grab as many bases as quickly as they can. If you ran into an LTAR covered base you knew you were in for a fight. Today, the attackers would just leave and try to sneak in some place else. Taking a base the LTARs covered was a challenge. Even if it took you all night to win it, it was better than "wining the war" because you earned it.
I hope we see the LTARs come back some day, as well as that type of game play. <S> LTARs

There are no telling how many battles we had agains the LTAR's. I can remember a few nights where we spent the better part of 3 to 4 hours trying to grab that base, even with the help of other squads. They had other squads help, and it was a straight up slug fest. Nothing will be like it was back then, when real men battled it out instead of little girls running lemonade stands finding undefended bases......

Of all the Ground pounders the LTAR's were the best. The finest fights i ever had were against this group of tankers. AH is diminished now that they as a squad are gone. Fairwell <S>

none taking bro
only thing i would like to point out is i was an original LTAR. i was not there since day one but i was there when we were still knights before ever switching countries. Bish was the first move ever for LTAR

Wasn't the beginning of the end, I was determined to make sure LTAR wasn't considered to be a "Chess Piece". ONLY a Bish Squad, ONLY a Knit squad........I wanted the squad to be known from ALL aspects, Nite, Rook, Bish. Respect from all.

when a hedge stops a round or a tank or a twig tips one over there is no ground game.

I can only say it seemed that way from my perspective. Once you guys moved I heard less and less about you. In fact after a while I kept wondering what happened to the LTARs.
I can accept the chess piece argument but IMO all sides knew who you were and you already had the respect of everyone in the game.

when real men battled it out instead of little girls running lemonade stands finding undefended bases......
:salute LTAR's
A little 7 year old girl got gunned down running her lemonade stand... for real, it's in the news!

It was an honor serving as an LTAR with you kilz. I never, ever thought i'd end up an LTAR...we spent alot of years killing each other. I'll call ya later bro.

Great memories with the LTARS in the sky and ground over these many years! I will hope to see a rise from the ashes, until then <S>

Some of my most memorable nights in AH was as an LTAR. When squad nights were hopping, it was hard to log off.
<S> LTARs
formerly LTARhamr now just a forum jacka.........donkey
-
a small few of the LTARs wanted to stay flying together. just a select few that where left. LTARjeb LTARkrap and LTARlun have chose to stick together and form a group called Nomads. its just a squad so they can fly on the same squad channel and BS with each other as for me i dont know when i will log on again.
-
Sorry to see the LTARs go myself. 4 or 5 years ago it was some of the best ground slug fests going, and my A20's rarely got away unscathed. :salute to the LTARs past and present.
