Cap you might like these 2, the first the tosion bar mount was rotted off the frame and they put this gooooober weld job to hold it. the 2nd is a ball joint of one of our work trucks which was inspected in april, oh and these get greased "every time we change the oil" bot at the same garage.

dont understand why it eats front tires in less than 3000 miles???? :rofl :rofl
as far as I thought the frame couldnt be welded on on a commercial rig maybe I am wrong. and I am just a dumb crew guy who dont know anything
this one I just thought was funny

Thats not a torsion bar its a swaybar, and the moron who welded it compromised the impact crushzone.
The frame should have been sectioned behind the crushzone (thats the little triangles at top of rail)

I don't think he comprimised the crumple zone at all. That weld will be the first to go. :rofl

yeah so true shuff :D

I knew that, where did I get torsion bar????? thats what my pick up has loltotally different.
I didnt know what the crumpple zone was but now that makes perfect sense :rofl half arsed garage and we drive these things! I think I could have done a better weld job with my buzz box

Don't fret... A sway bar IS a torsion bar, but serves a different purpose than that of a torsion bar spring (it ties the suspension to the chassis, increasing roll stiffness).

a torsion bar is load bearing,a sway bar is not. try again :neener:

so i see an entire section of frame rail welded there?? that's the sway bar bushing mount. if that's a ford, they're somewhat common for the older ones to actually have the frame crack right where the steering box bolts on. and if it's a ford, they ALL need ball joints by 30k miles.

yup its a 2001 foord e350 box truck and yup the frame is cracked at the steering box, havent checked that one yet but I do remember the guy at the garage telling me that. the balljoint is in a 2009 e350 30k?? try about 15k lol
