Title: Am I reading this right?

I was downed the other evening and fired off a few rounds with the pistol. It look's like I downed an F4U-4!  :x

Keep in mind that it very likely was a proximity kill where your chute was the closest hostile to the F4U-4 when it hit the ground and no living hostile had damaged it.

That said, people have obtained legitimate kills with the pistol.

Ah ok karnak, thought their might be a reason like that. Looks good on stats though. Until you look at my 68 sorties with only 10 landings  :bolt:

You can have lots of fun with a pistol in AH.  I once had six kills in a chute (as a man on the ground) in one sortie.

you should not be worrying about "landing" and concentrate on understanding the fundamentals of Air combat

I don't necessarily walk away from the landing, but if you consider 1 wing'ed nose dives straight down into a tree landing, then yes, I always land  :banana:
