oh cool, my family summer house is down the road from there (Neskowin). . . that is where I learned English in the summers.  Fun museum that, also the largest wooden structure in the world too!

We used to park our Huey there when we would do USAF Survival School support for the open water portion of SERE instructor training.

Stopped off at Tillamook back in May '09.  Very cool collection.  That huge wooden blimp hangar is also fascinating. :aok

The P-38 is the twin to the plane Jeff Ethel died in, and is painted as a tribute to Jeff's father Erv Ethel.

If he's still around, and still healthy enough to get out and about, (I've lost touch with him) Captain Stan Richardson Jr. may be seen visiting that plane, as he lives nearby.

Wild eh?  :D Just got home, made a huge loop, Boise to Portland, Astoria, 2 nights at the Geribaldi Marina Hotel, one night in Lincoln city, a night in the RedWood cabin, 2 nights in Reno, then home. 4 grandaughters all under 11 in a 15 passenger van for a week    :noid  My nerves are fried!   but it was fun anyway!!  :old:

Yup...had some favorite areas we will go back to. Geribaldi Marina & Cannon Beach south of Astoria was the best. Love fresh sea food

Yes I was amazed & thought, "That poor pilot crammed in there for hours...". I thought maybe it was a scale model, but everything else looked "REAL" & the German markings on the instruments too. Couldn't get a good pic inside because of window glare & it was darker in that corner of the Bldg.

your legs are almost parallel to your chest in a 109 - so you are pretty low in the seat. . .
