About passing by reference and value

When you pass data by reference, the information transferred between the Java Proxy and the .NET side is a logical pointer to the underlying .NET object, which continues to reside on the .NET side. When you pass data by value, the transferred information contains a copy of the contents of the .NET object, which might or might not continue to reside on the .NET side after a function call. Passing by reference and value have different advantages.

Because the data object itself is typically bigger than a reference, passing an object by value takes longer than passing it by reference

A little information can be dangerous or just make your head hurt.  :bhead

HiTech

I once thought I signed up for a coading course. We spent the whole semester painting cars, cranes, trucks. After that I learned to read closely all courses available and their descriptions.

Where do you think the pizza boxes go?  Sheesh, can't see the wires for the cardboard.

(you do realize there are very few people left who would know what you are referencing)

I hear he spends most of his time in the crapper after eating all that coleslaw that comes free with the pizza. Rumour is that he has his second office there - to get peace and quiet.  Has one of those really cool toliets too that has the built-in bidet ... :D

Pyro VALUE's all References. But that's just a sharp variable reference with Hitech's functional libary.

Not really, it's a very innocent question regarding rudementary coding.  If you think about it, something as developed/thick of a program as AH routinely passes both forms of data.  I think HiTech hit it on the head, someone is excited about starting their summer cource on introductory computer programming.
