So I plugged it in with the provided power cable. I flicked on the switch shouldn't the fan start to spin? I always thought they did even if they weren't connected to the computer is that incorrect?
-
Hmmm, it probably is and you cant hear it. I have a 750W Corsair and can't hear anything out of my case. I couldn't hear it even with case open. Sitting 2 ft away.

Lol I can see it not spinning. It is imply sitting on my desk plugged into my power strip.
-
BTW that very same power strip is currently powering my computer I am using to type this to you. Also that socket isn't dead I just checked that.

Oh wait I have to do that paper clip thing don't I... :noid

Quit worrying, plug it in already! :airplane: :D

Does the psu have a temp sensor, the fan turns on after a certain temp in the psu? Maybe the PSU needs to be hooked up as you were kinda asking indirectly?

I was wondering why the fan wouldn't spin when I plugged it in but I forgot that I have to close the circuit. The fan spins now!

Look at the second faq. Yeah... nevermind. Seems like whenever I ask for help I figure it out.
