Title: Mission Planning
Post by: earl1937 on July 13, 2012, 10:28:59 AM
:airplane: Just wondering! :x How much trouble would it be to install a "pull down" window in mission editor, with say a choice of 5 skins, for each type of aircraft selected, just as we do with loadouts of fuel and ords? Since all of the skins are already installed in the hangar file, how much trouble would it be to include them in mission planning? Just asking!  :bhead

Skins are not included with the game, they are downloaded separately and not everyone uses them due to resource issues. The default skin would have to be loaded instead in that case.

But, how hard is it for people to load suggested skins while waiting for the mission to start?

Or how about...

Use the mission-selected skin if the player has it available, otherwise use the default skin. Like you said, not everyone uses them due to resource issues. Even if they downloaded all the skins, they can turn off other people's skins so they don't have to be loaded into the game.

Your idea is better.   :lol

earl,

Maybe you are asking the wrong question?  How difficult it is, as opposed to how beneficial it is.  I think it is a good idea, but I would rather HTC spend their time updating models and gameplay, than taking more than a few moments to add coad that will be blamed for everything from lag to the cause of the 14th Century Plague in Europe.

:airplane: It certainly is no trouble to click on a pull down window for ammo and ords, why not skins? There are already in the hangar file!

I asked this not a week ago, same idea - a drop down menu for skins to choose from for missions, thus way everyone has teh same skin without having to take off with the default.

I know Skins take up massive resources - however if someone has them disabled then its disabled for those who have it turned off - however everyone else that has skins enabled, would in fact see the skins.

Not entirely hard to add.
