I recently discovered locally Microcenter store that seems to have very good prices and runs great specials - for example the latest is a Core i7 3820 for $229 plus $50 off any X79 purchased together. But this was an In Store special only, and they ran out of stock before I was able to get there.
Is this typical? I've seen them do this before, and they seem to often run out of stock. It seems almost like a bait and switch tactic just to get customers in the store. I've been to the store once, and it was a zoo - very busy, stock piled to the ceiling, long waits at the checkout line.
Anybody else shop there? Is this typical?

all stores do it. if you had read the sales offer it probably says something like quantities are limited.

If you check their webpage you can find out how many items are in stock at your local store and buy them for pickup so they don't run out.

Have one here in St Louis and have found many great deals by asking the guys in the back DIY section. :airplane:

Yes, they do have some great deals. Got my last I7 Cpu for $100.00 cheaper then anyone else at the time.
Many of their best deals are 'Store Pickup Only', so watch that.
They are a great source.
