Asking because it seems so, but haven't flown in RL in a while, so not sure. Seems like it, esp when at high alt.
Is it suppose to simulate real earth curvature?
-
I think that effect is caused by the limitations of view distance.
-
It's because your field of view is wider than normal. The earth is the correct size.

Can the field of view be adjusted so it looks more normal? Is that an option somewhere?

You couldn't possibly know that. Without detailed rationale I call BS. You spiked the Krusty meter on this one.

It is correct in AH, it simply appears strange because the earth is not curved enough in real life :old:

Just zoom in so the perspective looks correct for looking through a window the size of your monitor at the same distance from your seat. You'll see why the wider field of view is a good idea.

Ironically you're just guessing. :lol

It is likely the AH front end renders the terrain the same way as it is built in the Terrain Editor, i.e. on a flat base with no earth curvature. The curved horizon is probably just down to a combination of the view distance limit and AH's wider-than-a-RL-human's field of view.
You can alter AH's FOV settings in video setup IIRC. However if you use snap views in the game and you make the view angle more realistic (i.e. narrower) you will then introduce blindspots between adjacent views.

The Earth is flat. Everything else is a hoax.

The Earth-Curve nomogram isnt all that fancy (duh!)...
anyone who's tried to actually figure out a ballistic path beyond a mile or so, ... or a long-range weapon, eventually learns about them.
I'm siding with FLS and Dale on this one.

I would have to agree with the quoted assessment !!! ;) :D......... study the game a few more months(years), there is more there than you think!!!

The earth has to be flat otherwise you couldn't land on it...... Also it explains why Columbus's fourth ship, the Pina Colata, fell off the edge! Doesn't anybody read history anymore! I saw it on the internet..... or was it fox news.......
