So to day was the first day I have watched it since the first season ended...
But Ariel, the hotty, got her Private license in this episode :O :O :O
I will give it to her, she has come a long way since the first time, but she is still dangerous considering how she didn't even no the freqs she needed while on her cross country flight.

Im bettin she plays a village idiot. ;)

Did the CFI even do groundschool going over that info before she went out? I didn't see it and Ariel said she hadn't flown a 172 in a while. For that matter has anyone ever even seen her with an E6B?
-
that is the ditziest brunette i have ever seen. when she's on the ground she seems like her head is on and working, but when she's flying, yikes :O
-
That girl is very pretty game and tough so I think the ditsiness comes from being uncomfortable.
She's got that "icewalk" down to a science but I'll bet heels would give her fits.
-
It's entertainment. There is a reason why it is played the way it is.

the 172 is brand new and she only had like 4 hrs total in a 172 I believe they said when she went on the solo. It's G1000 and it seamed like she didn't know How to operate the g1000 more than not knowing the freq.that is the ditziest brunette i have ever seen. when she's on the ground she seems like her head is on and working, but when she's flying, yikes :O

ya i don't think she is stupid like the show makes her out to be, but they do a good job of making look stupid.

Ariel was MTV a few years ago :)

I saw her on some "wipeout" show where you run an obstacle course and she did better than most.
Apparently, she is interested in becoming a stunt woman.

Having worked with and gotten to know someone who was a "star" on another popular Discovery "reality" TV show, I've heard firsthand stories about how these shows work and are put together.
All of the interviews and footage is heavily edited... so much that they can pretty much make any event, story, personality, conflict etc. appear to be completely different from the actual truth. The individual I know became pretty fed up with how his words and entire personality where twisted in the editing. There are even cases where something exciting happened, but it happened to someone else who is not part of the show, and they would go back and edit it so it appeared, (and flat out lie) and say it happened to him.
So don't judge Miss Tweto off of what you see on the TV. As for the show, I tried to watch and enjoy it, as a fan of bush flying, and Alaska. But the over the top dramatic narration ruined it for me. They way they narrate it, every crosswind landing (or the off-airport landings for Jim Tweto) is the scariest most dangerous event that has ever happened to that pilot... even though those pilots do that every day, several times a day and it's completely routine in AK.

You guys better stop talking about my dream girl, or I SHALL SMITE THEE!!!!!!!!
I love her to death man, Ariel is way too freaking cool to be as hot as she is. Pilot? Maybe not, but god Im in love with her.

She did a week of shows with Craig Ferguson in Scotland. That was the first I'd heard of her.

I would agree with Saggs having worked with TV before. You have to take much of what goes on with a heavy dose of salt. Only the other day a production crew was videoing a sequence at the dropzone I work. I made quite sure they got the 'right' footage rather than the real footage.
One of the best I saw in manipulation was a pilot friend of mine was doing a piece for a kid's show where a boy wanted a flying lesson. As I watched they filmed a sequence where he and his Mother went out to the plane and were met by the pilot. Next they all disappeared and the plane was moved slightly. Then the Mother and child reappeared wearing different clothes. Supposedly this was the following day. The magic of TV.
Even so I like those shows. The flying itself looks very interesting. There is another programme called 'Bush Pilots' which aired in Britain on the 'Dave' channel. It followed the fortunes of young wannabee pilots with barely three hundred hours or so looking for a Bush pilot job in Maun, Botswana. Brits, Irish, Canadians, Aussies etc. It was really interesting if you ignored the wildly over the top commentry. Every minor event was hyped out of all proportion. But apparently, the word is that bigger events were left out because some of the companies didn't want any negative publicity or regularatory interest.
One unintentionally hilarious bit, for me, was when one of our heroes was despatched to land a GA8 Airvan at one of the 'shortest strips' in the Okavango Delta. Then they announced it was only 600 metres long (1968 feet). Luckily he made in but it was a close call if we to believe the commentary. I nearly fell off the couch laughing. I must be a super pilot indeed as I regularly get a fully loaded Airvan into a shorter, bumpier strip with wet grass (zero braking) and a stiff crosswind without a problem. No lions or wart hogs on the runway though.
Still they are worth a watch, if only to get an insight into the other jobs out there. If my wife ever kicks me out. I'm off to Africa to fly in the Bush.
PS Ariel is very cute!

I have enjoyed the show, sad to know they won't be making any more of them, and the show is over.
Ayla was the real hottie if you were to ask my opinion.

They canceled it?

Ayla is much more attractive than Ariel.
I watch the show, but can't stand the over-dramatic scenes. I realize that's just "showbiz" though.
I highly doubt Ariel is an idiot in real life...Discovery is just trying to make her more entertaining.

The last show was described as "The Series Finale".

I believe she is much smarter than she appears, but I think she is close to as ditzy as she acts, some smart people are just that way.

That's true, and is very likely. Ariel is just a huge extrovert.
