Thoroughly nailed the opening ceremony though. Usually dreadful tosh with eucks of people waving silky things but that was superb.

Anything portrayed from the late 18th century?

Anything portrayed from the late 18th century?

Pretty much encompassed most of modern British history. I was wholly sceptical initially but I have to say I was impressed.

Not to say 9 billion squids couldn't have been spent more sensibly :old:

Some of the crowd booing when the Argies marched out made me laugh.

Not too sure whether it was for the hand of god or for 'las malvinas'

Either way they should receive a good kick in the fork for booing athletes :old:

I thought it was spectacular, if a bit cheesey.

But then again, these things are always cheesey  :D

Kenneth Brannagh, JK Rowling, Paul, Rowan Atkinson, Daniel Craig, and of course our glorious Sovereign.

Wished I could have been with the rest of my family back in London

Cant believe they left out MPFC, that almost has to be an icon of British history

If they could've made everyone one run twice as fast and played the Benny hill theme song, that would've been nice to see.

Brannagh was good, Queen was a good egg with the bond thing, Rowan Atkinson was his usual crappy tedious self. God alone knows why his most successful character is Bean

Well they managed 4th with 47 medals in Beijing 19 gold. so i hope on home turf. usually perform well in boxing, swimming, rowing.

Cricket is sort of sport... unlike golf, darts, bowls, ten pin, snooker, cards,  :bolt:

We were going mad about all the frenchie goggledegook before the English. It wunner the bleeding Eurovision. We have duffed the cesm's up enough times, and rushed selflessly to their aid enough times that I agree they should learn the Queens

I was fuming they where speaking french first
wtf was that all; about....beggers beleif
I know Mr Bean???!!! screwy..but i think he has gone global in a vile viral way so its something a worldwide audience knows...Benny hill would have been classic although not at all pc these days... Monty Python would have been loads better...depicting mr bean cheating in a running race, at olympics...strange
I think it all showed we can laugh at ourselves as well as stand tall
I was so sceptical before hand, green hills, cricket, sheep & rain...wtf.. good ruse i beleive
dizzy Rascal....wicked

Mr Bean is terrible

BlackAdder however has to be one of my fave shows in BBC history..... aside from Dr Who and Monty Python.
