Dale & Doug have been saying "maybe" to subs, for years. Who knows. Would love to see them.

I've seen subs pop up near a CV while under way out at sea. Just hang out on a CV in F3 mode for a while and look around.

Wasn't the submarine at the port introduced together with the updated fleet? :headscratch:

I believe so

I believe so
Now that was 4 years ago.

i thought it was when the bases were redesigned.

In that case, 2 years.

I know it doesn't matter, but I often wanna know things "just because".... curious by nature :x
-
It was with the new ports.

Wouldn't submarines be boring? They move slow, can't see far.... you'll be underwater looking at the inside of your sub for hours before you run into a fleet. :headscratch:

midway think outside of the box for a moment if we had Subs there would probably be a limit to how long we could stay under water like say maybe 5 mins or 10 you could sneak up underneath the crusier and all the other support ships and then fire the trops at the cv and hope to get a hit and if you were spotted say maybe some depth charges being throwin your way and sink your sub but Subs above water depending on which ones we get move rather fast maybe 40mph topspeed thats enough to run down a carrier as a carrier only travels at 35mph it would be a slow process but nonetheless it would be well worth it, it would be okay for some of us who don't have jobs to do and give us something to do besides do long bomber missions

Maybe, but how long before you find an enemy task group... and if one is called out on range, wouldn't the bombers likely get to it first... so you'd just be sailing the open ocean for fun.

I will approve subs if it means we also get Mossie XVIII to put 57mm holes in them.

Fixed.
By the way, if that meant hours of radio silence, I'd be all for it, Captain Who :devil
-
Sub Spawns is the answer! You could spawn near an enemy port or base and unleash commando troops. :x
But they must be painted yellow. :D

Moved... Radio Silence perked my interest in the wish list forums.

I enjoyed Silent Hunter III but it would be hard to make that viable in AH. Maybe wolfpacks operating like the present cv groups do.

Our CV group travels so fast it'd be nearly impossible for a sub to attack unless it was head on.

never say never

A sub could catch a cv on the surface depending on its course or change of course.

But then you might as well up a PT boat if you're going for a surface attack. I don't really see how U-boats can be used effectively in the MA. They can't attack a port effectively because the VH/ack is on land, and if a deck gun is an option, it still wouldn't be used because it has to surface, and the PT can do that faster and easier.
It can't attack a CV group while submerged in a chase, and the only chance it'll get is a frontal attack or as the CV passes through. Which means it has to be rather close to CV, and that means there will be planes near the CV. Not too much fun for a sub in that situation.
