A good starting point would be to search for Delirium's films of the P-38 clinic he conducted awhile ago.

I can make myself available this coming weekend, I cannot commit to any days during the week as I have my own kids and my sister's kids during the week for summer.

Soulyss is also a trainer, and he specializes in the 38.

I am a great instructor... if you want to know the proper procedures on placing the nose of an aircraft in a 90 degree vertical attitude with the horizon and how to follow it properly into a nice soft patch of dirt.     :noid

Thanks, I'll send a PM to see about a day and time. Meanwhile is the film that Ack mentioned available someplace?

Thx for the consideration, but I'm very capable of accomplishing that rather intricate maneuver already!

Except for the teeny tiny fact that I'm not on the training staff.  :)

I am however happy to try and answer any questions I can.

Soulyss used to be a Trainer until he was called to serve on the CM staff. He is one of the best; definitely a better man and instructor than I am.

No, no sarcasm... he has earned that praise.

Don't listen to Spork.   When it comes do doing things completely wrong and wrecking 38s, I'm your man.  Watch me some time and do the opposite.  You'll live forever!

When you're in the MA, check to see if I'm online (in-game handle: AKAK) and I'll be more than happy to give you some tips and pointers if I'm available.

the key is to not let them get there in the first place, once they are there you are dead. :aok

Easier said then done, especially flying a bomber.

Barrel roll reversals work very well against an attacker that is bouncing from the six position, then there are other situations where maybe using a rolling scissors to force the reverals may work.  It helps if you could provide some scenarios where you have troubles in reversing, then we can get a little more specific on what to do in those instances.

Do this...
1) roll about 220-240 degrees, pull back and cut under the other guys nose
2) then pull up and initiate a rolling scissors with the guy on your six (now prob on your 9).

The trick is to force the attacker to be at an off angle to your tail.
