Hehe.
In a few years this addiction will subside to nothing more than an enjoyable occasional hobby, I assure you. There is no point throwing away things that should last a lifetime.

Don't lie to your girl dude. Just be honest. Tell her you've got a problem.
Tell her that you'll go to AH rehab... You'll have to step down slowly... 3-4 hours is the starting point.
Eventually you'll just say screw it, dump the girl, fly 12-16 hours a day, and live on gas station food.
Why fight it?
:)

You are showing your age flatIron it has been called DUI (Driving under the Influence) since the 80s lol. But still good advice.

you know youre and addict when
I've been doing this for 23 years, starting in Air Warrior back in 1989 and I've played through every evolution of the game since then, and during that time my addiction has included:
- Playing from 8am one morning until 11am the next day (28 hours straight) without moving out of my chair.
- Staying awake for 3 days solid to fly at a net meet.
- Deliberately missing the first week of a family holiday so I wouldn't miss a scenario.
- Spent an entire Christmas holiday analysing aircraft performance (just taking a brief time out for Christmas dinner).
- After all that time I have never considered stopping or taking a break.
That may sound like I've had the addiction bad, but partly thanks to being equally addicted to other interests, overall I've managed to keep everything in proper perspective and maintain a good AH/Work/Life balance.
With luck I'll still be flying after another 23 years :)

Yep I am 61.
Depends on your state what it's called. In North Carolina it was changed from DUI to DWI in the 90's. States are different in the names (OWI, DWI, DUI) and punishment. Only thing consistent is it's .08 nationwide.
How do I know this? It's my business.
-
I started in 1991 with secret weapons of the Luftwaffe. And almost every ww2 flight sim since. :joystick:
and in NY we have Dwi .08(felony) and DUAI .05(mistaminor)

I know all this because I worked a DUI team for over three years. I can tell you I got sick of doing it way before that and you are correct about what states call it. I am 60 so we are close to the same age.

I started with the WW1 thing that came with the Apple 2C in the early-mid-80's

Back when I was totally addicted, :old: playing (and still married) wife would get mad and yell
"Hey Burger King" at me when she wanted something, and I had headset on :rofl :rofl
AH might have helped put an end to a doomed thing :D
 Oz

I was addicted my first year or two. Now I'm down to, I would guess, about 20 hours a month.
It really is amazing how a good fight in this game can have you craving for more though. It's unlike any other game i have ever played.
-
Badboy, you left out the part of your stalking tendencies and shade characters.. That should account for your other 45% of game play...
