Title: Patch 5
Post by: 100Coogn on August 04, 2012, 01:22:12 AM
Version 2.28 Patch 5 Changes
======================

Made a change to the hi-res auto-downloader so that if it fails to launch the update patch, it will open your Aces High folder and give you a prompt with instructions on manually installing the hi-res patch.

Planes that start flight with flaps extended no longer reconnect from a disco with their flaps extended.

The Nav-aids system variable is now viewable in the View Mode Flags menu in the Arena setup.

Fixed an issue with the material of muzzle flashes having specular properties.

Nothing in the clouds could have any effect on frame rate.

If you are experiencing lower frame rates, you changed some other setting, or on a different place or terrain.

I had no effect on my framerate, i actually increased the enviroment notch by one, and the Frame rate stayed solid

If I type defrag in the start menu on my task bar and use "disk defrag" or whatever, will that work? Sorry I am a damn noob  :rofl

Yep, that'll do it Redbull.  It's always a good idea.  It may seem like a small thing, but I've seen firsthand it work magic on framerates if the wrong file was fragmented.

Start/all programs/acessories/system tools

If you had a sudden & severe loss of frame rates. Try re-downloading and re-installing the high res pack.
Eliminating the only other possibility for the issue I had a couple of patches ago. Its what worked for me

I don't have the hi res pack, my computer would implode, I play on lowest settings game will allow with an average ~25FPS lol
