Title: Set Trim Button
Post by: Triton28 on August 04, 2012, 02:37:29 PM
I have "Set Trim" mapped to my stick, but I'm confused as to what it's primary purpose is vs. manually trimming.   :headscratch:

So, what does "Set trim" accomplish?

Try going into a climbing turn and steady yourself. Press the "set trim" button and take your hand off the stick.  :)

Ahhh ok... so it does what I tentatively thought and sets your trim for your current a/c condition at the time?  Does it take into account your flap situation?

Thanks for the quick response, btw.

It should. All it's doing is a one-time set of the trim. It's not like combat trim that constantly adjusts the trim tabs.

Is there a dot command to set trim Like .settrim ?

I doubt it. IIRC, it's just the period key on the keyboard.
