I was lucky to find the absolute best "photo book" on this OP's subject in a small book store in Lueneburg, Niedersachsen in April 1979.  It's by Paul Carell and "Unternaemen Barbarossa im Bild" (The undertaking of Operation Red Beard in Pictures).  It covers literally almost every aspect of the campaign and even those who cannot read German can appreciate all the work it took to put it together.  Still found for a song on Amazon and ebay--hardcover even.
