Title: In-game music
Post by: titanic3 on August 06, 2012, 09:39:46 PM
Hmm, would it be possible for us to create our own .wav music playlist to listen to in game? Add a folder named "music" in the AH folder and let us put .wav files, just like custom sounds, that'll play when we begin a sortie. If you don't want music, leave it empty.

One button to play/pause, one button to skip, and one button to rewind. Pretty please HTC?  :)

man this has been beaten to death more than the nook.  nothing really stops you from playing music outside of ah.  heck I used to watch netflix on one monitor and play on the other.  but if you insist on music just rename the engine sounds to whichever song you want to play.

Then every time you want to change music, you have to alt tab out. HTCcould work on a windowed version of AH if that floats your boat.  :) And just asking, why should it *not* be added? Hurts no one, affects no game play, and the system to add it is already there.

I have iTunes running and route it to my headphones (as well as the voice channel), everything else goes to speakers.  Works great. :aok

wrong it will affect gameplay.  playing songs takes a hit on performance on your computer.  hitech or skuzzy also gave a reason why we dont have a windowed version of ah and I believe also because it takes a big hit on performance.

plus also there could be a copyright infringement somewhere.

I play through iTunes as well, I just hate having to alt tab to change a particular song. I've made playlists as well, but again, if something comes up, I have to pause it, which means alt tabbing out again. Just a simple request, no biggie.  :)

I notice no difference, but may be because I have multicore processing.  Frame rate, everything, appears exactly the same.

I run my Droid through my auxillary port and ran an extra long cord to my desk. This way, the music is right in front of me and plays through my headset, along with all the other game sounds.

Sadly, I've seen fewer and fewer sound cards with that extra port lately.

I'll +1 this if you can find a WWII aircraft that was fitted with a Phonograph :aok

it would have to play period music too. have you heard WWII era music? most of it is dreadful.
