It happened back in the day, a round hitting the radio etc. Would add even more realism to to the game.

It would not.  It would just push squads into using Ventrilo or TeamSpeak as the in game VOX wasn't reliable.

It would, however, disadvantage new players and players not in a squad.

Because of the availability of alternate communications tools no limitation on in game communication is viable.

-1 There is no alternative to radio Communication; we dont have the ability to use hand signals in the event of radio failure.

I'd sign on if this only affected the range channel. (heck, as cluttered as it gets sometimes I'd shoot it myself)

Yea I can see your point there. But how often were pilots actually in hand signal range, or able to look for them during a furball.

We already have in game vox communication so it would be nice if the latency killing third party communications software weren't needed at all.

In other sims, transmitting on teamspeak can induce warps.

I am curious what priority windows assigns Aces High VS Teamspeak.

This would be kind of pointless since so many people use vent or other programs that speak outside the game

I fly 99% of the time in the dueling arena since my PC can't handle the MA. Wasn't aware of others were using outside coms, So the losing coms would be pretty pointless I guess.
