Join us to commemorate the Battle of Britain, specifically Adlertag or "Eagle Day", which took place on August 13, 1940 and which was the start of the Luftwaffe's attacks against the RAF over British soil.
Runs Monday in Special Events II arena at two times:
-- 3 pm Eastern Time (8 pm UK time)
-- 9 pm Eastern Time
"What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war. If we can stand up to him, all Europe may be free and the life of the world may move forward into broad, sunlit uplands. But if we fail, then the whole world, including the United States, including all that we have known and cared for, will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'" -- Winston Churchill, June 18, 1940.

We need lots of participants to make this the most fun. It's an unlimited-life event, and you can start whenever you want and leave whenever you want during the 2-hour running of it (so no worries if you can't make it right at the start or have to leave before the end).
The main thing is to get a lot of people in there having fun in a historically motivated fight, about one of *the* classic air battles of WWII.
What else could you be doing on a Monday night? Join us, and bring your friends! :aok

It was from a "what if" scenario frame in BoB 2008. "What if the Battle of Britain lasted into late 1941?"
I'll be there, hopefully for both times

Oh! I apologize for all the mean things I said... but you know, was just playing a silly role. Wanted to be Allies but that Axis talk overwhelmed me and ended up making me silly. :)
You're not really a dirty dirthead (dreckiger schmutzkopf) and your squaddies are not really dirty dirt (dreckig schmutz), etc... :devil

Tell them, "piss poor planning on your part, does not constitute an emergency on mine" then cordially remind them of your normal operating hours :)
