I'd like to see some more ground sound effects in the game - for example when in a GV and you've shut your engine down, or after you've bailed and are walking or standing on the ground. Here is a perfect example clip of what I'm talking about - birds chirping, crows cawing, dogs barking in distance, etc:

It'd be cool if the screen bobbed up and down and slightly right and left as you walked on the ground, including sound of footsteps in brush.
Also, when I shut my aircraft engine down in flight, I don't hear the sound of wind. Seems like you should definitely hear the rush of wind, no matter what your speed if the engine is shut down. I think right now you just hear wind noise if you exceed a certain maximum speed?

correct around 300mph wind file starts

Agreed with oboe, this background sounds work really nice in a game called ironfront: liberation. It makes a nice "feel" difference.

I finally got a chance to download and listen to this, and its great. I supposed the birds and stuff would quit singing in a hurry once the fighting started. Would be ridiculous in fact to hear a soundtrack of birds singing while a tank battle was joined.
Either soundtrack might get tiresome continually looped though. Woud be cool if the program was smart enought to know which one to play, would add quite a bit of immersion I think.

Gunfire/explosion sounds not caused by players I think would be more annoying than anything...

While you're flying yes. While you're in the tower or just chilling in the hangar, it'd be nice to hear something. Some radio chatter or some fighting off in the distance. It would be even more cool if this only happens when the base is flashing (wouldn't really make sense to hear fighting if you're 20 sectors from the front line).
