With registration now open, it's quite obvious this is going to be a massive event. Now is the time to reserve your spot with I./JG1 and pilot the wonderfully potent Fw190A-8 in defense of the Fatherland. But why shouldn't this also be a time of redecoration, just because this is war? Our new European Beautification Effort is putting in work full time using the A-8's skill set to add glorious yard ornaments to all the houses hurt in this conflict. Many people have requested some sort of 4 engined bomber, preferably in pieces with a flame denoting the fire burning within the men's hearts for the Luftwaffe and the Fatherland or the rear section of a P38 standing vertically, to show that the devil has lost on this ground.
Come one, come all. Earn your place in history by becoming an Ace in defense of the Fatherland and bring victory to our cause! http://www.ahevents.org/events/scenarios/current-or-next-scenario.html

Awww Dace just moved from a 2 sheep bounty to a 1 sheep. No creative effort went into that post :neener:
-
Step right up grab an A8! That's right anyone can fly one we'll teach you all you need to know, except landing because the Allied pilots will make sure you never get the chance......The Luftwaffe.....Dirt Darts with beer.....Nice!!! :D

I'm no good a smack talk. I will try from time to time though. :o

in all seriousness, the A8s do well in scenarios. . . with proper tactics and in a good wing (which is what you have in scenarios) a group of A8s has the power, the durability and the speed to really rack up a lot of kills. 109s are much more fragile and tend to die a lot easier then 190s for the most part. Sure, an A8 is not going to be hanging out up high and manage to fight a 51, but as the fight descends, the A8 gets stronger and stronger - and the escorts have to make the decision to go low or stay high. . . choices choices.
Anyway, if you want to get into what many of us consider the real potential of AH2 - that in reality MA is just fun and games and scenarios are the serious stuff, then this is your chance to really experience what is ultimately as close as we are ever going to get to flying in WW2. . .

Me 109 F/G:
"- Did pilots like the slats on the wings of the 109?
Yes, pilots did like them, since it allowed them better positions in dogfights along with using the flaps. These slats would also deploy slightly when the a/c was reaching stall at higher altitudes showing the pilot how close they were to stalling.....this was also useful when you were drunk "
- Franz Stigler, German fighter ace. 28 victories. Interview of Franz Stigler.
Not dirt darts. Aces! Franz Stigler is also the ace who let a b17 go even after having been ordered to destroy it, because it was in such an awful state. A good story of humanity; it can be found here.

It's well worth the read. But, I wouldn't count on any such acts of chivalry this go around. :neener:

It happens, but it's rarer now than a sheep in AH.

Grab an A8.......make sure your life insurance is up to date. They totally are outclassed by
anything the allies have at that altitude. Make it through one pass you may have a chance
to dive away....and take another 20 minutes to get to altitude.....that's if we don't see that
boat anchor struggling to get alt with a "Shoot Me!" tag on its' back :bolt:

Except we are not flying excel spreadsheets and charts, and up there, it's the Axis pilots outclassing anyone the Allies have up there :D

Enough with the mindless banter. The outcome of this battle has been foretold! :old:

This Scenario is gonna be a blast!

Oh crap, I may have just made a tactical blunder. I can see the nose art now, completely distracting my boys and making them fall apart :bhead

POOR CHAD! You're writing his family about this one.
Dear sir and ma'am.. Have you ever heard of sky diving? Chad did.. except he forgot to listen to the part where you're suppose make sure you have a parachute.... Don't worry about him though, he's doing fine. He's on tour as the world's biggest human pancake!

Whom shall be the first A8 to die from my Jug? Applications now being accepted.
There once was a plane from Nantucket..
Couldn't fly to point "A" so they truck it.
Once up in the air,
Was shot down with out care.
And its pilot, once healed, said "Ah just f*** it." :P

note to self : kill TomD

True. I get that comment a lot when I go out. "Hey, aren't you that parachute guy from Aces High?" I used to explain. Now, in the interest of time, I just say, "Yep, that's me."

Seph's comebacks are so epic, he said that bad comeback on purpose so you wouldn't be blinded by the epicness of his best comebacks. Purely out of the kindness of his heart.

You'll have to live through our Doras to get to see the A8's...as a gunner..

If a guy like me can slip through the escort and knock down 2 bombers this easily, it should be a cake walk for the axis :neener:
