Title: X-51 Waverider

A new hypersonic scram-jet powered aircraft is going to be tested tomorrow from Edwards.  Pretty neat.

I'm curious how this will ever be applicable in fighter planes since this uses a crap ton of fuel in a very short period of time...But then again, I want to be surprised.

I'm sure that was said during early jet fighter development also.

It is even worse than that.  I would stay away from that site and mark it as unsafe.  It is doing things it has no business doing, given what it is supposed to be.

This one (http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/science/x-51a-waverider-plane-may-be-able-fly-new-york-london-one-hour) is not the cleanest around, but it is  better than the one above.

Thanks..... you know, even if this is successful I'd still call it fail as they are not trying to land it.
