I tried looking into this on my own with no luck. How does HTC decide which older birds to update in the new patchs of the game?
Is it by how much a ride is used in MA/SEA?
Is it by date? (Older the model, the higher the priority)
Is it random?
Been flying the KI84 a lot this tour and did notice it seems to be one of the older airframes in game these days. Would upgrading it come with any possible changes to the flight model of it? I know there was talk of using the American fuel vs Japan's fuel...maybe even 4 x 20mms.

There are models still using the AH1 standard, like the Lancaster and the Bf110. You'll be waiting a long time for any remodeling of the Ki84 which is already a AH2 standard, particularly when there are other AH2 models which are older than the Ki84 as well.
Sorry to say it...

I can't wait until the P-47 and P-51 get their second update :)

I'd like to see my Hurri Mk1 updated. :aok

The new models like the Stuka and P-40s make the first generation planes look even worse. Even planes like the P-47 look a little rough around the edges.
While it's nice to get new airplanes to fly, updating at least the really old ones should be made a priority.

Oh really? Honestly didn't know that....I'd like to see a list of oldest airframes in game to newest, going to do some more searching.

There are no AH2 models that are older than the Ki-84. The Ki-84, B-24J and T-34/76 were the first AH2 standard models introduced in v2.00.
That said, there are a number of AH1 models left in the game, the oldest models being the B-26B and C.205.

Thank you HiTech and Lusche for your answers. With this information though, shouldn't we take into account that as newer versions of a model were introduced, such as Pony B, the Mustang P51-D .plane 1 / tour 1 upgrade would actually be equal to .plane 40 something / tour 14?
Anyhow, from the latest and greatest patch, I can see a lot of work for those wonderfully dedicated volunteer skinners as well. In question: Do the additions of environment mapping such as inclusion of the cockpit reflection in the Zeke and P40, etc., become available to skinners for "pre-latest patch" models or not?
I could see skinners, wanting to hold off on new submissions of "old" models (maybe anticipation of eventual face lift), but for the most part anything Ki-84 on would show a sharp improvement in aesthetics due to environment mapping and give the awesome team already on board a more realistic sized update list.

Snailman, have you ever played around with Microsoft Access or other database tools?

Played around - yes, but that's about it. Never really used it.
