You see, that's why your in the Army. You still don't have the slightest clue of what happens at boot camp, and you'll never really know unless you experience it.

as i see everbody should do something that not olny benifits themselves but benifits your country such as some ppl becoming doctors, police officers, emts, firefighters, teachers or anyone that helps others and my way of doing that is serving in the usmc
-
Patton you have a good attitude and you should do well in Boot Camp. You have made the choice to volunteer your services to this great Country. You will be pushed to the limit physically and mentally. When you finish Boot Camp, you will be a member of the finest fighting force in the world!

Just FYI, since you're goin' in on the 13th, Nov. 10th is the USMC birthday. Surprise your DIs by knowing how many years the USMC has been goin' from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli. :aok

yeah I am pretty sure they will give you a prize, in the sand box.
the years "from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" is a negative number. since "the halls of Montezuma" refers to the battle of Chapultepec which is in 1847 while the shores of Tripoli refers to the battle of Derne in 1805.

You read that wrong...the laughing icons were because I figured you guys held deployment over the new guys heads just like we do in the Army (We call them cherrys)...partially my fault for sure, but I excuse myself because writing was never my strength :aok
I really could care less about your boot camp big boy....I know I've seen 12 months in Afghanistan as a Infantry Team Leader and that was enough for me. Second, my underlying comment goes with ANYTHING that happens in life....It is what you make of it.

Welcome to the brotherhood of arms!
:salute
Boot camp will be both the toughest thing you do in the military, and by far the easiest.
Never quit
Never accept defeat
Never leave a fallen comrade
Always place the mission first
(its the army ethos but it bears weight in all uniforms)
I believe yallz is

Agreed, yes. How I read and took that was not really what you meant. Glad that we cleared that up.
And yes we do have a name for the Marines that have not seen a deployment, or have only been in the Marine Corps for a very short amount of time. "Boots"
