Title: Cartoon #97
Post by: The Fugitive on August 26, 2012, 12:15:26 PM
This one was suggested by Krusty. I thought it was a good one, and those of us who are just a bit  :noid might think this is how it "really" works.

LOLz.................  Happened to me the other day only it was just a country reset.  What makes your take on the server reset so funny, is the  :headscratch:  :O   panic we all go through.  That along with the number of guesses that we make on how the system works  :headscratch:

I understand that if you are in flight when the server resets, it acts as if the whole sortie never occurred.  So, if you didn't rack up any points, kills, structures destroyed, then you don't loose any perks.

Now, here was my dilemma the other day.  I didn't care about the perk points, but I had made a few fighter kills (something rare for me).  Would have been ideal for me to see my name in lights but, I was already pleased enough with myself without any pats on the back (although always appreciated).

I  :headscratch: pondered that if a reset means that the sortie didn't count, did it not consider my killz?    Oops you caught me I look at my score here and there.   I might have augered just to save my killz at the sacrifice of perk points.  The funny thing, is that those kills were probably already recorded and I feel even cheaper for admitting to my shame.  :o

I guess he dosent color them in because its too hard to stay in the lines....or maybe hes not allowed to have crayons anymore due to the toilet incident. :rofl

You are right that your sortie never happened for score purposes, which are updated only after a given sortie has ended. But as player (and plane) stats are updated in real time, your kills still appear there, even when the server resets.

Of course, if the current sortie was already extraordinary successfull (above your usual average), you may consider to bail/auger to save your exploits from the great score void ...  :old:

:rofl  :aok Too true, I had a rare monday off last week and decided to fly a 262 for the first time in a month or two.  Less than an hour in and Skuzzy comes on to make that announcement, and my immediate reaction was :noid .  Three minutes and a sector later I was sliding halfway down the runway following an agressive landing  (aparently the 262s wingtips can double as landing brakes with enough/too-much rudder work) before I realised he followed up that announcement with a 7-minute warning.

My luck, I'd skid just 2 feet off the side of the runway exactly in time for the ditch to be recorded w/ 2 seconds on the clock.... :noid
