Why did you install a new version of that DLL? Did you restore the original to see if the problem goes away?

some of the solutions to fix problem said the file could be corrupted and to try installing new file. So i did that but still having issues. Then went through the uninstall reinstall of AH hoping that might fix problem but last night same thing happening. I'm about out of scalp to scratch. any ideas Skuzzy????

:headscratch: what was the original problem that prompted you to go looking for a solution?

We do not provide that file with the game as it is not needed by the game. When you start replacing DLL's in Windows, you really need to have a good understanding of what is going to be impacted by that action.
If the game was crashing, on your computer, then there is usually something driver related causing it, not DLL related. Replacing a DLL might cause a service to have a problem, then it could impact the game if the Windows service being impacted is tied to anything the game needs from the operating system.
You need to get back to where you were (system restore is not going to fix this one, then we can start a logical search to find what the problem may be.

i'll go get in the game and when the window pops up i'll try to get it copied here so you can see the error message. only driver according to reading solutions that could be the culprit was the vidcard, i did reinstall that made but no difference.
why i started looking for solutions is everytime i would get in AH...within @5 minutes my screen would go white, i'd hear my engine in the background then and an error message would pop up with the mscvcrt.dll.

Just out of curiosity I Googled for msvcrt.dll to find out what it is and does. I found this quite deep digging piece of advice from About.com's PC-Support site (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcirt-dll-not-found-missing-error.htm). Also Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/187910) has a recipe to your problem. Guess it's too late for you, but in case someone else has the same problem... :salute

The original problem sounds like resource issues with the video card or with system RAM.

Thanks Skuzzy, I have been checking all you mentioned again. Last night I was actually able to be logged in for a longer spell before getting the error. I got stupid and forgot to post what screen message looked like. Will try and get logged in today, if it pops up I will be sure to post. I think it is also creating a text file saving it to my temp folder, would you have time to look at it? It is quite long though.

A DXDIAG output might help.
