Title: killed a chute: is this a bug?
Post by: caldera on September 13, 2012, 06:59:21 PM
A first for me: a kill of a chute (and I didn't shoot at this one).  :headscratch:

The next pic is from Spatula's pilot stats program:

This shows every tour that I was killed by or killed in a chute.  No chute kills in 6 years but now I got a proxy on one?  :lol

1 kill to 36 deaths versus a chute - that takes real skill.  :D

I noticed I had a kill in a chute as well a while back.  It took me by surprise that it is kept track of.

Why do shoots explode when you chute them?

I was wondering if this thread was related to the new AI substitution on disconnects.  :headscratch:  I have noticed that not all my disconnects end with me happily back behind the yoke in the cockpit.

Sometimes you get a bailed message or other, but my memory can't recall if other messages include captured or even killed?  What I do actually have film of is a chute that actually showed up on radar as an enemy con, and was made out of bullet proof material.  I am not mistaken about the bullet proof description, as I filmed run after strafing run with hit sprites and collisions into the deng thing.  When it finally hit the water, the dar and alarms stopped reacting to it's presence.

Let me know if you need the film.

Pilot wounding a plane is cool but the ultimate chute action is chute on chute FPS style.

icepac, yep. you're the only one who's ever done it.  :aok

just go fly a hurricane 1 to the strats and own all the jets.

or drive 3 hours in a tank and flip it.

I'm sorry your gameplay is so limited that you have to toss ad hominem barbs at someone who has a full and rich experience.

If I lose my plane within 10 minutes walking distance to an enemy field, I will creep up and hide near the rearm pad.

I did this last night but had expended my ammo in the pistol so I stood in the angle formed by the rearm pad at a large field to hide from field ack and waited for someone to rearm.

A F6F showed up to rearm and I announced on 200 that I was about to shoot up a F6F on the rearm pad at field x.

He quickly towered after witnessing my "smooth criminal lean" and slow turn to aim the pistol at him.

My aces high bucket lists is getting smaller.

its just that alot of us have done all the stuff you talk about, but you seem to think you're the first one who ever thought of doing these things.

You're welcome to post your newest and latest experiences but don't chide a noob for deriving enjoyment at doing something different.
