Is anyone using the Saitek X-65 Flight Controller? What do you think about the performance?
Thanks,

Love it! Takes a little getting used to but it's very precise. The HOTAS configuration on the throttle gives you all the buttons and twisty knobs you'll ever need.

the throttle is awesome but the stick is not suited for WWII simulation, fine stall control is nearly impossible

Agreed.. The stall control part was the biggest issue. After giving it over a year I ended up selling the X-65F and went with the Warthog.

I haven't had an issue with riding the stall. My biggest issue has been the dreaded "Don't move your controls so fast" message that I used to occasionally get when I was saddled up on someones six. I finally got enough deadband/dampening in to avoid it. Apparently, the piezo based X65F reacts to changes in stick pressure much faster than a stick with pots. I have my stick force on F3. Heres my settings in game for aileron/elevators. I just had to reload AHIIand lost my old settings but this is pretty close, but I'll need more dampening than shown here:

I have it and use the f3 for flight and f2 for tanking and f4 for field guns. My deadband is set up similar to
Btw if you get it I would suggest permanently mounting your throttle to something due to the fact iiis stiff.
But I love it.

Can you elaborate a bit on the fine control part? I'm looking at a new stick and my biggest requirement is essentially "fine control"
