OK, I've been having issues with my connection over the last few weeks. At first I thought it was due to the conventions, but it hasn't settled back down. This a ping plot screenie from this morning....

Hop 1 is my router, hop 2 I assume is my modem.
As soon as I start the plot, no matter to which server I go, hop 2 goes to 100% packet loss and with no ID. The other hops showing loss come in later, 10-20 seconds later. This sample is only 29 seconds long but it would look much the same after 29 minutes, only changing which hops have some small losses and how much. Hop 2 is ALWAYS 100% loss though. Notice that my ping times are not bad. I average 50-60 most of the time. Last night I expected that I'd be lagging all over the place, but it seemed to be ok.
My questions are,
1. Why is my modem not reporting to ping plotter? I'm sure I'm not losing 100% of my packets as I can go on line and play the game with out getting the errors.
2. is my modem going bad? I have cycled it but that doesn't seem to help. I can connect to the internet but sometimes it take a while to load a page.
3. is there a way to check the modems setting? I have a ubee u10c018 The best I can find is instructions on how to reset it with a paperclip
Any help, or ideas would be great. Thanks.

how old is it?

Less than a year old. The thing that bothers me most is "is it on my end, or is it the internet?". Hate to sit by a do nothing when I could have fixed it making a tweak or two. :bhead

Hop #2 on my system is my ISP.
