Is it really too much to ask?

:lol :rofl :lol :rofl your wish has been granted...the grass is various shades of greenish color and the water is not. think you need to do some computer upgrading...

Some land textures have different graphics for above water versus under water. If the terrain creator used a texture to give the coastline or a riverbed some interest, you need to have "detailed water" turned on so it doesn't look like land.
Here's something I put together a while ago to demonstrate what the various setting do to the appearance of the water:

Thanks for the help Imadot, perhaps now I wont get bogged down if I run a gv into the city.

Mine looks like the 4th screenshot "on a good day"
I wanna cry every time I see a screenshot with amped graphics...

I'm finding that detailed water has less of a frame rate hit than detailed terrain.
You need at least one or the other turned on to see the border where water meets land.
-
Yes, I had a fair old frame rate hit turning on the detailed water, didn't try the detailed terrain.
My puter is so old that when I clicked on the bumb environment box, I ended up with a wonder-woman transparent plane.
Still, as my concern was a result of some gv outings, I won't need to have it on all the time.
Thanks again.
