Just flew nearby my office in West LA, got a couple long distance shots, and its a little hazey here today. Let me see if any the shots that I ran out the fire door for turned out OK.
Glorious bird.

Got a really good view of the shuttle as it landed at LAX. The office building I work at is right across from LAX so I had a really good view of the couple of low fly by passes and the touchdown on the runway. Will post some pics when I get home from work.

Sad that it's the last flight. End of an era.

Yup, but it's also a proud day, I think the crowds of spectators at the hot spots all across the city was reported as being something like 3-5 times what they estimated would turn out... today was a very unproductive day in LA. :aok

The Imperial Highway going past LAX was a parking lot, literally. People first stopped and parked in the emergency lanes and when there was no more room, cars then stopped in the traffic lanes and parked. It was like a tail gate party. The Imperial Highway frontage road that runs along the freeway was crammed with people, could barely walk without feeling like you're jammed into a can of sardines. Traffic in El Segundo was pretty messed up in the morning lead up to the landing and for a couple of hours afterwards.

:furious
I can't believe I missed this.
I'm lying in bed this morning about 9:45 and I hear the super loud engines of a low flying jet wondering to myself what the heck this jet is doing flying so low over my house with that much power to it engines. Then when I get to work in the afternoon everyone is talking about the shuttle. Apparently it flew right over my house. I had heard about it being moved and how it kept getting it's flight delayed but for some reason I thought it was going to some museum in southern California. Only after the fact do I find out different. Oh well thanks for the nice pictures everyone

I saw it from the bay also but my phone had died :bhead

From my office window. sorry for the kind of poor quality of the pics, it was an old digital camera that I have laying around my desk.
