I've finally broke down and admitted that it is time for me to sell my show car.
She was in street customs magazine, has been in over 100 car shows and never - EVER gotten under second place.
As some of you know, I hit three deer in my car and surprisingly it took very little damage. The headlights were cracked, and the front bumper splintered off into a thousand pieces which is actually what kept it from taking a lot of damage. The only thing holding me back is re-molding the fenders, but I just don't have the time to keep her up and repair her. It's not right to let her sit.
Here's some photos of her before the accident (that most of you have seen before):

uuhhhmmmm....so you took a Mercedes and added some flares and bling bling, complete with a fart can and a bottle of NOS (if it really is NOS), threw in a few coloured wires and its a show car?
Oops, forgot the spoiler on the trunk, that oughta make her go.
Do the speakers have that "BBBmmmmmFFFF! BBBmmmmmFFF! sound when you put in the eminem CD?
Sorry, just don't see it.
Good luck getting your money back out of it. It isn't exactly a "classic".
On the up-side, kids these days will buy anything with bling bling.
Oh, wait...its not a Mercedes? It's a Honda? well......will wonders never cease!

Lol the car has won me up to four thousand dollars in big car shows. You may hate it, but the judges love it.
It makes money, the magazine publishers love it, and the haters envy it.
And the "It's not made in 'merikuh types" - well, I don't call "Built in Mexico, assembled in USA" ...."Made in the USA" - let alone an American vehicle.
---
And it's such a shame to see someone who decides hating on a newer age show car is good just because it's not a 1960's hot rod.
If I could drop 80 grand into a car, sure. I'd have one. I'd love one, but I can not afford to fix one up or purchase one at this point.
If you'd like me to get one, please; by all means give me the funds to purchase one.
I did something no one had ever done before, achieved a dream and have decided it's time to turn it over to someone who shares that passion.

I have to agree with RTR a bit, I think it's a beautiful car however, the whole gaming console/tv's/NOS etc., just isn't my thing. I do agree with ya though Marine, that's what folks want and it I still think it's a sexy car. :salute
-
I may not like the newer show cars, but you can't say it isn't a damn nice ride for what it is. Im sure your grandpappy didnt approve of your style either RTR.
-
heh, well good luck.
I'd say you probably just outgrew it and hopefully some starry eyed teen will drool and sell his soul to you for it.
But really, it's a Honda with a fart can and some leather and fiberglass.
Not my type, but I'm sure somebody will want it....you can always hope.

That car is amazing. Such a shame that you cant keep it, its a piece of art on wheels. Very nice car and I know that if I had one, i'd hate to see it go. As for what RTR has said, don't pay it no attention. Some people don't like it and will make sure you know it, I personally think you could have gotten something a bit better, but with what you have I would say its very nice.

Exactly. However I'm not really qualified to give such an in-depth analysis as RTR and the other car guys. To me, it's just a way to work and back, picking up the kiddos from school and daily driving. So, my little '09 Mitsubishi Galant 4 banger works well for that. Having said that, I still think it's a bad bellybutton looking car and I can appreciate all the work you've put into it. I'm not a wrench turner whatsover, I can barely change my oil. :lol

I am my Grandpappy, son.
LOL...I'm just old and don't like change. Cars have big motors and fat tires, that's just the way it is. Nothing fake about them, no fart cans, they just really sounded that good.

I am my Grandpappy, son.
xD :rofl
I LOVE and I mean LOVE old school hot rods, but I can't afford something like that at the moment.
My dad actually has a 1973 Pontiac Ventura Sprint GTO that he let get in bad shape. I wish I could afford to restore it. :cry

Heh, sorry for busting your balls, I really am old. I see these things all over town and always have the same reaction...."WTH???"
In truth, it really is a sharp looking ride to someone who is in to that kind of style and Kudo's on the magazine spread.
But...a Honda with a Fart can?
Give it a few years, save your pennies, you will do better than that, of that I am sure.
Old school muscle isn't as unattainable as you think $$ wise.
Hope you get what you ask for it anyway.

Hehe thanks. These cars are actually pretty rare down here (south Georgia) so they break a lot of necks haha.
She does have a tad more than a fart can though. :P
And at least it's a deep (non-bee sounding), smooth growl instead of "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA -pop- WAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa -pop- buuuuuuuuuuuuuwwaaaaaaaa!" :rofl
You can kind of hear it in the video (the shaking of a loose piece of metal makes it sound like the cheap fart cans). It also has a cut out that changes the sound + gives me 5 more HP when I decide to go beat around an old air strip. (Ooooooooooo 5 HP! :lol )
-
lol, that is a nice looking ride Marine, but i'm in with RTR, if the thing needs nos yer doin it wrong. sell that sucker and save up for an old school muscle project. considering what you did with that ricer, i can only imagine what you could do with some detroit muscle.

Don't discount 5 hp. Its like 5 extra 1,000lb beasts hauling your butt down the strip.
But you would be amazed what you can get out of a good block with the right pistons and heads.
I do see the appeal and recognize the work and effort you put into that car though. Still, I think you won't get your $$ back, but none of us really do I guess anyway.

Hehe, it's not NOS. I could have put NOS in it, but I use that big tank when I go to shows to play around with the cylinders (I don't use airbags to make it move around/go up and down), so it's a tank I fill up with either Helium or just air. It has a built in compressor if the tank runs empty, but I normally keep the tank full.....and in the floor board. I'm too lazy to take it out haha!

Oh I know I won't get anywhere near my money back for it hehe, but something is better than nothing. :)
I remember putting a 454 in my friend's truck when we were teenagers.....holy mother. You could literally watch the gas gauge go from full to empty or simply be going down the road at 60 MPH, stomp the gas and burn out. Was a lot of crazy fun.
-
454...yep!
Had a few cars that it was a race between the speedo and the gas gauge!
A couple...66 Chevelle and 79 TA, I swear the seatbelt was only there to keep you in the front seat when you pushed on the gas pedal! LOL
Had a Barracuda for a while, and although not as quick as the Chevelle or TA, it was by far the biggest chick magnet.
Kinda miss that old Barracuda. :)

My God I swear that's the truth.
First time I ever sat in a car with one tossed in it, I nearly crapped my pants. All I heard was "Check this out" then suddenly I sunk into the seat, heard screaming tires, saw and smelled smoke and what felt like extra G's being pulled. :O
-
heh...welcome to the dark side.
Soon you will be poor like the rest of us old Grandpappy types :)

To me, that screams "ricer"

To me, that screams "ricer"
Ricers are cars that some poor SOB has "modded up" (a fart can and cheap spoiler) then runs around goin' "My car would smoke yours" then runs from the ability to race.
I built this girl to look beautiful, break necks, get money and trophies. All of which she does.
You'd probably fit into the group who left this one my car while I was at work one night:

Lol, yeah I busted out laughing when I read it. They were all sitting on their trucks, eyeballing me as I walked out across the parking lot. It was 1:15 AM and I was working at Wal*Mart after being done with Active Duty. They didn't think I understood who did it. I walked over to the car, looked at the napkin, looked at them, waved, got in the car, started it, flipped on the police strobes and made her "dance" then drove off lol.
-
i appreciate good workmanship, and its always good to get what you want out of the car...
but the mercedes emblems? that i don't get.

Let's try this again...
The Mercedes emblems are all off of old/wrecked/scrapped Mercedes (like my police strobes in the headlights and taillights - they came off a wrecked cruiser). The outside was custom made to match a modded Mercedes.
It's neat seeing a Mercedes on the outside but climbing into an Integra.
_____________________________ ____________________
Plus as far as I've ever been able to tell, no one has ever come close to what I've done. They've slapped some fake emblems on, but never bothered changing the ENTIRE look of the car. :)

It looks pretty cool.
I don't see why people have this overwhelming need to run down other people's stuff.
Here's a concept, if you don't like it then stay your effing donut out of the thread!!!

I usually expect something like this when I see an import show car.

Heh, I don't have the cash to do stuff like that. Someone with a butt load of money got a hold of that car.
My car was made by a guy in a trailer park on minimum wage and a dream that wanted to achieve it before he was in his 40's. ;)
-
I have to stick with the older generation on this one, although it is a pretty sharp looking ride :aok just not my cup of tea, different strokes for different folks. there is no replacement for displacement though :old:

holy crap sorry for your loss

my grandfather helped when he could when i built my mustangs. he liked everything i did to them, much to the chagrin of my grandmother(it made it harder for her to convince me to quiet them down, lol). none of mine were show winners though, although they did get driven every day of every week in any weather.

I prefer coupes and RWD, but it was the only car I could get at the time. Worked with what I had. :)
Why are your well won trophies in a garage?
Lol, nowhere to put them. TBH that's not even MY garage haha. I stored them at my friend David's house. :lol

just curious, if your in Georgia why does the car have a Texas plate?

Stayed in Texas for a short time with a friend due to issues at home (folks). Was a good thing too because he actually fronted a lot of the money for me to put the car together and allowed me to pay him back. Well, it WAS nice but now I'm 23 and have no credit lol. I should have just been more patient and did it via small loans over and over, but I was very young and naive.
I'm pretty sure in the video you can see my Georgia plates.
Here's another one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10w552jDqGw - If you watch in 720 you can see my plate for a few split seconds. You can check the plates if you like BNN 6917 :P

Not really. I recall reading an article were some Finns decided to test how much "horsepower" a horse had. Turned out to be about 20 horsepower.
