of 6 planes
-
sooooo, instead of upping 3 targets you want to up 6 :ahand
-
110/410 w/Rockets + 6 tightly packed medium bombers = 6 kills in one salvo. :devil
-
Well...
There are other formations already programmed into the game itself...
Delta Formation wouldn't be too viable especially with gunning... which pretty much leaves the Finger-Four/Swarm Formations...
Sure I wouldn't mind spending perks to have that 4th bomber... but it isn't necessary whatsoever
+1 for hopes for perked extra bombers
-10 For it not being a necessity
-
I normally up a large mission of ponies armed with rockets: a single one.

Although that joyful moment aside, I'm against it. No. Medium bombers have other benefits. They're often more manueverable, better at lower to medium alts, climb better, etc. You want a better bombload, take the better bombers. Match the plane to the sortie, or vice versa. Don't force something to do what it shouldn't. That's like complaining that your D3A isn't fast enough to catch F4u4s, so you want more of them to make up for it. Simple solution: Don't chase F4u4s!!!

Im against it too. The problem with medium bombers and something that players have always tried to take advantage of is that they can do full aerobatic moves like snaprolls and never lose their drones. On another upside to that the drones will warp back and forth and cause quite a navigation hazard for attackers as well as change position anytime guns are fired.
Im for taking medium bomber formations OUT of AH actually because of the gamey side that players insist on employing.

Well... then there pretty much goes the general use of the Boston III/B-25C/B-26/G4M1/Ki-67/Mossie Bomber
"not going to count the Ju-88's.... They're just not that scary...

I can see a box of 4 medium bombers, diamond formation, being pretty useful (but still not as "useful" as a 3-box of the heavier bombers)... have the rear one offset slightly lower for defending against the rear.
That would be really cool.

it would help with defense of the rear of the 25C as well :devil

I thought about it more, I would really like to see 4-bomber box formations, and 2-bomber columns as some type of formation option to the current 3-bomber V. I think it would really increase the dynamic and "optimum performance" challenge some bomber pilots go for in the game, lessen the current given implication when sighting of 2-bomber box at a distance that they may be soft/damaged/easy-meat, and also if say you had 3 or more bombers in your formation and now have only two I think it might be of greater value to the bomber pilot to choose (even if only pre-flight in the hangar) how to best proceed.
Having two small dropdown text boxes below the [ ] Formation checkbox in the hangar should do it graphicly and with the UI, the rest is scripting/codeing.

That's bad logic. You're making the bombers ever more powerful in defense, in what they can destroy in 1 pass, in how they can affect OTHER players' gameplay, at an unhistorical benefit to the bombers.
You also might as well complain that 4 bombers are "soft" compared to 6, and 6 are "easy pickings" compared to 12.... There's no reason, by your logic, not to have 1 player invulnerable inside a 100-bomber formation.
You have to think about the impact upon gameplay this would have. It would be detrimental.
P.S. 2 bombers are still quite able to defend themselves in most cases. And if they cannot (if, say, they aren't B-17s or B-24s), that's why you have an escort.

escorts don't help when your in a 25C and still on climbout............ :noid

This request is merely an attempt (as Krusty pointed out) to offer more guns and bombs to one type of bomber (medium). If you want more than fly heavier bombers.
