Hello,
I've been an Aces High member for quite a while, and have never understood the Perk Point system. Partly because the system could have changed along the way.
What brought me to post this topic was an incident that occurred in the Late War Arena this afternoon. 2 things happened. I 'upped' a B5N with 3-250kg bombs. I bombed and destroyed an ammo bunker, and two soft-gun batteries. I landed on the CV and received 4 (and odd change) Perk Points.
I 're-upped' a B5N, targeting an enemy vehicle hanger (VH). I did not destroy the VH, but did destroy 2 "structures" that were confirmed by the text buffer. I was killed within 1 minute of destroying the structures and damaging the VH. I then opened up the hangar and received zero (0) Perk Points.
Now, I've read the FAQ, and understand the 1.25 bonus multiplier for landing kills and destroyed objects.
Here are my questions based on the aforementioned events.
1. Why did I receive ZERO Perk Points for destroying 2 structures and damaging a VH?
2. Does the act of damaging structures or buildings, but not destroying them, result in Perk Point rewards?
3. Is the Aces High FAQ formula for "cost of perk planes" incorrect?
a. The formula states the following: "cost of perk planes = plane cost X perk point bonus". Also seen here: http://www.hitechcreations.com/Help-Section/Aces-High-Features/aces-high-help-perk-points.html (http://www.hitechcreations.com/Help-Section/Aces-High-Features/aces-high-help-perk-points.html)
b. Shouldn't the formula actually be "cost of perk planes = plane cost / perk point bonus"? Ex. plane cost (10) X perk point bonus (1.5 - less of your country on than the other 2, also see formula) = 15. In reality, the cost of perk planes is less than the base perk cost per plane if your country has less people logged on than the other countries.
Please only reply if you have something to add to the discussion. I'm not a 'perk potato', but do use/spend Perk Points from time to time, which is why this is relevant to me.

It's because the objects called "structures" are effectively just eye candy in game and do not give any perks (or score) at all. They can be destroyed, but that's it as far as the game goes.
Also you only get perks for destroyed objects (or a killed opponent), not for damage (that's why you also don't get any perks for 'assists')

Thank you Lusche. This is starting to make a lot more sense now. I was correlating "damage" with Perk Points, when it's really destruction.
However, I do think I have a valid point on the formula in the FAQ section... I believe it's wrong, and should be (cost of perk planes = plane cost / perk point bonus).

Don't confuse "cost of perk planes" calculations with "perks earned for destroying things and landing" calculations...they are [AFAIK] two entirely different things.
