Grated the Bravos should never had let the game get that close and in the end I dint think the infield fly(30 deep in the outfield and called late) influenced the game the most. Also the play where Simmons was inside the baseline when the ball hit him on that throw down to first hurt aswell(as the runners had to go back and Freeman wouldnt have scrored anyway) I think the biggest impact was the Braves fielding and the leaving guys on base. Medlen still had a HELL of a year and Chipper is one of the greatest 3rd basemen of all time. Hopefully next year the Braves will remember this and Play the whole year with hunger.

Did the Ump make the call to late? Maybe.

I watched the game, just because it's baseball. No favorite here. I might have been tilted to the Braves
simply because it was Chipper Jones last season and maybe last game. Fine ballplayer who quietly played
great baseball throughout his career with little national fanfare. HOF career to my standard. HOF man also.

The umps did not lose the game for the Braves......the three errors did.

Shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

WTF is up with the winner of the wildcard game getting the first two games of their respective LDS at home? That makes about as much sense to me as a screen door on submarine.

Or, oddly enough, then getting out from under it. It's a major leaguer making a major league play. It's a more obvious call when the ball drops between third base and the mound. It's still an infield fly if the infielder can make the play in the outfield. Everytime the ump makes that call, with the infielder camped under the ball in the outfield, a bunch of people get their panties in a bunch. It was true coaching youth baseball for 10 years and it's fun seeing it in the majors.

Now about that blown call at first....

I agree. Regardless if the ump blew the call or not (and I personally think he did) the ball should have been caught.
