one word of advise from somebody that works at a steel mill.   trust no one as it's your life and health on the line.  and I mean it.  take care of your own butt as you are pretty much attached to it whether you like it or not :).  and congratulations on the job.

Congrats!  It looks like a complicated way to get fingers/toes removed, so make sure you start squirreling away your retirement savings right away.

Pay is better. Extremely dangerous work.

Keep your head on a swivel.

Homer one of my students and close friends owns a gas drilling company up in Pennsylvania. He's on the line for two weeks at a time. I would like you to talk to him before you head out to the rig

My brother works the nightshift on a right down by Floresville Tx, he says you gotta be careful and pay attention or REALLY bad things can happen. BUT, 7 days on, 7 off with REALLY good pay keeps him happy and motivated to stay safe and work 12-14 hours and then have the rest off to rest.  :aok

Congrats on your new job and be safe!

Thanks guys, yeah gotta keep mind straight as it is VERY dangerous, my dad is a driller and has told me some stories, the majority of accidents he has seen have been because of stupidity.

Rico's Roughnecks! Ironically, after the "graboid" thread, I couldn't locate my Tremors DVD, so I settled for this instead.  :lol
