Title: Medal of Honor: Warfighter

Medal of Honor: Warfighter releases to stores October 23rd. If you pre-order the game you'll get exclusive things like special weapons for the US Navy Seals and a mulitplayer map of the compound where Osama Bin Laden was killed.

The game seems really great so far to me, been playing the Beta for it on Xbox360 and seems fun. Also if you guys are having problems downloading it put a Battlefield 3 disc in, if you have it. Then press X and it will give you the option to then download the MoH:Warfighter Beta. Anyway are you guys gonna be buying it or should I waste my money on another Call of Duty? Get your thoughts out on the game. Also according to EA the game was written and consulted with about 2 dozen Tier 1 Operators.

I love the fact it has all major nations included in it.

Gonna be racking up a few hours as Australian or British SAS.

At least this one is made using stories of actual military personnel and has an amazing storyline. ;)

The last one was really good IMHO. The single player was great.

The multiplayer on release was terrible, BUT it got better. The lack of maps and size kinda did it in.

I am however disappointed in the way this one looks. It's as if they shifted to CoD. :(

My thoughts exactly.  They act as if they've run out of ideas for WW2 games  :headscratch:

I just grabbed it for $20. I'm really enjoying it to be honest. Maybe I'm getting old.  :D

I have to say that the last MoH released (back in 2010) was by far the best MoH game to date. Hands down the best FPS campaign I've ever played IMHO. Multiplayer was a bit harsh, lots of bugs but were worked out shortly after release. However, once Black Ops was released shortly after the online experience took a turn in the wrong direction, numbers completely depleted.

I've already pre-ordered this game and can't wait to give it a go once it is released. Always been a fan of the MoH series since day 1.
CoD however, I wasn't pleased with MW3 and Black Ops only slightly better (only enjoy the zombie gameplay on B.O.). Bought ELITE when I pre-ordered MW3 and realized it was a complete waste of money. I will stand fast before buying the next CoD and will wait to see the reviews and gameplay after release.

I think the MoH series could make one heck of a series of WWII or Korean Conflict games based on story lines from Attack Force Z, Guns of Navarone, Force 10 From Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, Operation: Market Garden, etc.  There are tons and tons of scenarios that have not been touched on yet.  They could spend lots of time on the operations that occurred in the "slot" in the south PTO, the Ost Front, S and SE Asia, Africa, Winter War, etc.

The gaming industry has barely touched the subject of WWII in terms of historical FPS'ers.  Same goes for Korea.

COD on the new Frostbit engine looks like. Putting new skins, from different countries, will be a INTL selling point. Many world gamers want to play their own soldiers. $60 US is a lot of dough, and thats before they start hitting you for new maps and such. But having many countries in it will increase sales for sure. Frostbite 3 is impressive.

Since buying CODBO's I wait until after release to buy any game. I agree a WW2 game on that engine would have been great. To bad Battleground Europe was ruined. Now that was a fun game in its prime. They may get on Steam which may resurrect it. Tho it will take more then that. They will have to actually improve the game.

The first time around I thought it was fairly good. Then I went back and played it again and realized how arcade like the game felt  :uhoh  :(

$60 is way to much for it and any other shooter these days. Especially since they are charging for extra maps and such and only a limited single player experience. This one will not be purchased at all.

Sadly, WWII is not popular right now so the release of such games has not happened for a while.

The best WWII FPS game I have played is MoH Heroes 2, the selection of guns was lacking and the community was a bit small.  I however like the games with smaller communities, not entirely sure why though.

The only COD game that I have played in depth was Black Ops.  I was impressed in certain areas and left disappointed in others.  One of my biggest problems with COD was the complete disrespect that naturally came with the game.  I quickly learned to make a point of muting any squeaker that continued to run his mouth.  That however is something that is beyond the admins control for the most part.  My other big issue was how ridiculously over powered some of the guns were in the game.  In the MoH game play, they did a very good job of making sure both teams weapons were respectably balanced.

I don't understand the die hard fanaticism with COD.  Just because a company comes out with a new game every year, does not mean you have to go out and buy it.  I personally tend to lean towards MoH games because the are more thought out and planned.

I will most likely be getting MoH War Fighter because it does look like a good game.  I also wanted Battlefield 3 but never actually got it.  I may have to buy that as well.

That being said if a COD game came out that was WWII based, I would buy it in a heart beat.

Yes. The BF series too. Ive noticed FPS's have some real ignorant and/or young players. Not that every kid is ignorant but there seems to be a connection. The WW2 and flight game genre tends to have an older, classier crowd. Ignorance on the voice comms during AH was always pretty rare.

The best Call of Duty games (Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2) were WW2 based.  CoD started off as WW2 shooter games.

And the trend MoH picked up with the last game - Linkin Park putting on the show. Touching video in a way. Kinda hits home.

My 2 favorite single player missions in any shooter I have ever played were the assault on Pointe Du Hoc and the mission where you have to take and hold the hill in Germany on COD2.  I cant remember the hill number but it was raining constantly, under artillery fire, and constant German attempts to take the hill.  No Black OP where one guy kills 700 Russians can top that.

Are you my long lost cousin or something? Those were my two favorite maps as well.

Lots of quotes coming where needed;
Yes. The BF series too. Ive noticed FPS's have some real ignorant and/or young players. Not that every kid is ignorant but there seems to be a connection.

I completely agree, not all are ignorant.  I've played with plenty of kids in the game who are always respectful towards other players (sometimes more so than the adults who play).  Trash talk is part of the game, I'm guilty of it myself.  When trash talk comes with sportsmanship, then there is no real problem.  However trash talk and ignorance is a fine line.

The WW2 and flight game genre tends to have an older, classier crowd. Ignorance on the voice comms during AH was always pretty rare.

 :headscratch:
...you've clearly never flown with my squad before FSO.  Someone always has to get drunk and stir up trouble.  Older yes, classier... for the most part but let's not jump to conclusions just yet.

The best Call of Duty games (Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2) were WW2 based.  CoD started off as WW2 shooter games.

I completely forgot about those two versions.  I have played Call of Duty 2 a bit but even though it is a WWII based FPS game, it can't compete with the modern versions and their advanced graphics.

The graphics were amazing for when they came out.  its the content of the game that is important to me.  I played the single player campaigns on COD and COD2 over and over again.
