OK what caliber do you shoot the most of?
How much ammo do you purchase when you find a deal?
Toe
-
Glock 22 and 27- .40 cal S&W
Usually around 1-2 bricks at a time I'll buy if there's a good deal. But I just bought some Federal Hydra-shok .40 S&W 165 grain for self-defense ammunition and it was $29.99 for 20 rounds

Go through a lot of 12 target. I shoot a .308 and my dad mainly shoots .270. We have a variety of other calibers though.

FN SLP 12 gauge
Bushmaster XM15 .556 NATO

I never answer these kind of questions. No ones business but mine.
But, the BATF will appreciate your attempts to help them track gun owners.
-
I shoot the following pistol cartridges quite a bit (I reload all but the rimfire).
.22LR
9mm Para
.45 ACP
.38 Spl
.380/200 (.38 SW), for my Webley. :D
In the rifles category, I shoot the following quite a bit (I reload all but the 7.62x54R Russian and the rimfire):
.22LR
.221 Fireball
.223/5.56 NATO
.22-250
7mm-08
.30-06
.303 British
7mm Rem Mag
Shotgun: About 50 rounds of 12 gauge a year, no more.
I shoot hundreds of 9mm, .45 ACP, and 5.56 NATO a year.
-
I see it hasnt been listed but I shoot a 300 win mag and the wife shoots a 300 short mag, havent shot in like 3 years, but got over a hundred rounds for each gun. then comes the bowtech havent shot that in over 4 years. if anyone is into bows pm me thinking about getting rid of it as I dont bowhunt anymore.

They don't need the AH bbs to track you Dago.
:rofl
-
30mm, normally 65 rounds.
shamus
-
.40 (usually only enough to keep two mags filled for my glock, with a box of 50 spare)
.303 english (box of twenty and full mag for my 1944 enfield)
Thats my personal use anyway :)
-
.45 ACP
9mm Luger
5.56
7.62x39mm now and again and I've pretty much stopped shooting the .308. Too damn expensive to buy ammo for all of them.
-
What do I shoot? Mostly paper targets, milk jugs, beer cans (empty of course ;) ), or any other useless things laying around. :D
.22LR is what I've shot the most
.22 MAG I've recently shot when my uncle brought his over. I'm looking to buy one now :)
9mm I've shot a little now
7.7mm, 7.62mm, 7.92mm all from various WWII weapons
REALLY want to get a 1911 and shoot some .45 ACP!
-
They don't need the AH bbs to track you Dago.
:rofl
Maybe not, but they have it now to track all of you.
-

If the stinking traitors are tracking me, just means I'm doing something right!
-
5.56 through an AR-15
9x18 through a Makarov
7.62x39 through some form of SKS
7.62x25 through a Romian TT-33
7.62x54R through a 91/30, M44, 91/59 or M39
.32 Long or 7.62x38 through a Nagant Revolver
30.06 through a Garand
in that order. I usually try to avoid more than $200 on ammo in any single purchase.

I'm sure it's a lot easier for them to do that using the firearms' registration than by trying chance encounters on random internet bulletin boards.
In fact, I'm pretty certain

:noid i am an evil aces high ammo counting black ops scary guy....wooo wooooo
I am interested in knowing because I want to start a ammo manufacturing company. Nothing major. Just want to get an idea of what is lacking in the market and what is popular. As far as tracking I think the government would be better off spending their time tracking gun and shooting sites than here. Also the reason I want to start my own ammo manufacturing business is because even with the local guys in Montana churning out ammo my calibers are always on back order or at least 6 months out for even a 500 round box (one month or 4 visits to the range supply). Hand loading 9mm and 45 sucks unless you can get 600-800 rounds and hour. So I figure If I make the investment for that type of equipment I might as well crank it out for others too.

kodak usually.

Numbers-wise, it'd be the 12ga. Quick and easy to go through a bunch of ammo. I really only drag them out for a few boxes of practice once/twice per year though, followed by hunting.
Time-wise, and day-in day-out, it'd be the .54 (rifle mostly, but also pistol). Those are the guns I shoot the most, and enjoy the most, but they're not rapid-fire... I shoot @ 300 rds/yr of this caliber, and shoot them every few weeks.
Next it would be the
.270Win
.22-250
.75 (sometimes shot, sometimes ball)
22LR
I don't find the modern calibers all that challenging/exciting, so I mostly just sight in with them and occasionally hunt with them
I mainly hunt with my muzzleloaders (even during regular firearms seasons) and traditional archery equipment though.
Actually, I hunt with my birds more days/year than I do with all my firearms combined per decade.

They have the registration records. Internet BBS's are their source for things not registered.
