I just saw a over flight of Helicopters flying in formation and it came to mind that the warm fuzzy feeling of protection I have, is due to the men and women who have taken that extra step to protect my country and the world at large. Thank you so very much for your service. :salute
I for one know how much you go through to do this. There is no corporate job that will ever put you through what you have been through to gain the honor and education you have now. There are a lot of people out there that don't respect what you have achieved. I am not one of them. :salute
Oh and I might add that I felt a bit of pride watching such a display. As I do when I see F-18s flying in formation. I don't know about the rest of America but when I see that I'm like ya that's my country men!!!!!! So if you guys ever feel like the average man isn't behind you then I have to say your wrong. Every time we look skyward regardless of who you are, you make America feel better even if its a point A to point B mission from Eaglin to Hurlburt. We see you and you give us heart. :salute

You have to also salute the families of the men and women who serve. Over the past week I've watched at close hand as a co-worker who's husband was deployed to Afghanistan awaited his return from deployment. He was able to call a few times and the expression on her face when she would see who was calling would touching. The joy of knowing he was coming home, then the disappointment when there was a delay en route.
The families pay a price as well.

He he he I just shocked the living watermelon out of 5 service men at the TA in Walton Ky. They came in and sat down to eat... When they got up to pay they were shocked to find out they had no bill. When they asked who payed the bill the waitress said it was covered by a vet as a way to say thanks for your service.
Just to see the smiles on their faces made my day. So from a former JarHead :salute

For me, it is a pleasure to serve. I am humbled every time someone says thanks for my and my families sacrifice. All I can say is thanks.

To echo what Tom said it was a pleasure and an honor and something I would do again if I had to go back 22 years and make the choice. I love this country and it's people. I was taught that freedom has a price and that as long as we have folks willing to pick up the tab for the country we are in good stead. So thanks to the folks who appreciate what I did and thanks to all my brothers and sisters still standing watch! God Bless all of you and your families!!

A phrase I remember said by a military wife I met. Is "If you don't support and back up our troops, then stand in front of them". I loved that so much. <S> :salute the troops.
My favorite US military video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpH5L8zCtSk&feature=plcp (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpH5L8zCtSk&feature=plcp)
