Title: <<S>> to 1841, 367th, NIGHTMARES, & VMF-222

That was a well executed plan.

 :salute Blue Strike!!!  Well friggin done!!!

G3-MF got engaged S of A31 by N1Ks and Ki-61s.  Fortunately, we got the main body around and the hvy fighters through.  We were able to provide escort to a few A20s that made it through, home.

That was an intense fight.  I salute the Axis forces defending.  I hope you were as surprised as we were at the initial engagement.  We never thought we'd find enemy planes right there.

Overall mission success!

 :cheers:

Great job Slip <{S}> I think that was a first for us to sweep as we made our dive bombing run on the task group. All in all real fun and a pucker factor to boot!! :salute

Nightmares send our compliments to our inbound escorts the 1841 FAA and to the G3-MF for the outbound coverage of our survivors.

We arrived at our target and had a clean and successful bombing run due in no small part to the efforts of these two units and the other sweeping Squadrons.

We got somewhat shot up by the AAA, but were able to loiter in the target area long enough to make several second passes on some of the shipping.

On the way out, some of our badly shot-up survivors were found and shepherded all the way back to friendly territory.

On the whole trip, we never saw a single enemy icon, and were free to concentrate and keeping our crates in the air.

<Salute>
