Scene where the returning combat veteran from WWII, broken, down and out, and depressed because no matter what he does he can't seem to fit into civilian life reunites with his old bomber in the arizona desert. At least in the war
he had a role to play on a team, a mission to complete---------to do his small part in help winning the war.

That whole movie is greatness. Harold Russell won 2 Oscars for his role as Homer, the handicapped sailor. He later had to sell one of them to help pay for his wife's medical bills.

A very powerful film. The boneyard scene contains a lot of birds, but there is one unique B17 that shows up. Anyone notice it?
