Yaks...but the canopy is very different...in game it's much more "Late War" in appearance, but they have the radiator sticking out underneath like the Yak & C-2... :headscratch:

26. The Battle of Midway

A look at America's infamous attack against the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II.

Gee I always thought of it more as a famous defense against the Imperial Japanese Navy?
Is Coombz writing these ads?

I just sat through Aces High with Malcolm Mcdowell the other day, not the most exciting movie I'd ever seen but some of the shots were really cool for the time preiod the film was made.

You should read the bridge to far thread when the topic "bernard montgomery" comes to mind. Anyhow nobody in this game has the rights to any opinion of the battle of midway until they read the book "Shattered sword".

Given the spelling, maybe we could have a Battle of Brittas?

I disagree with you on this. Shattered Sword is a great book and covers the Japanese perspective very well.
However reading it and making the statement above is the same as reading Prange's Miracle at Midway in 1983 and saying the same thing.

  Quote from movie Midway:
(Henry Fonda) "Yamamoto had everything going for him. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?"

Luck over skill thats how I roll.  :D

There was no miracle at Midway, there was only tactical blunders one after an another that the Japanese simply could not recover from.

It is a lot different fighting an enemy that knows they are at war and that you are coming.

I never said there was Miracle at Midway. Did you say there was a Shattered Sword at Midway? Prange covers a lot of the blunders as well. No one book is going to make you an expert on the battle I don't care who wrote it. Prior to Shattered Sword anyone who read the numerous books  on the subject or even wargamed the battle could come up with the same assestments as Shattered Sword. Again SS is an excellent book but just because you read it doesn't mean others can't have an opinion on the battle.

The loss of all but one pilot from VT-8 wasn't particularly lucky.
