For author of a thread, can we have a thread lock option? There are time I like to lock some threads I created due to redundancy and regret.
-
I know the feeling... :lol

Just "report to moderator" or PM Skuzzy. I think there would be too many hateful threads with just the initial post in it and then the author would lock it so nobody could comment on it.
-
I understand the intent, but the consequences would be dire.
Example, Joe DoDo (no offense intended towards any dodo's reading this) makes the following post:
"SEraider, you are a son of blah blah blah and your mother blah blah blah so keep on running your blah blah blah and then blah blah blah".
Then he locks it.
----
You come along, and start another thread.
"Joe Dodo,...what have you been blah blah blah"
Then lock it
----
Joe Dodo comes back in yet another thread
----
"When you going to get off the bacon blah blah blah and stop running your blah blah blah"
Then locks it
----
I come into work Monday morning and ,.....what the heck?>!?! OY!
400 locked threads by a handful of people.
And who uses "bacon" in a derogatory manner anyway? That is just wrong.
-
I also could see a lot of threads with factually wrong information, particularly in Wishlist and Aircraft&Vehicles, with no chance of anyone setting the facts straight
"I whish for the F-86, because it fought over Japan in WW2! Thread closed, so bite me you flamers muahahahaha!"

At that point you can change your sig to, "Screw old age, this forum is what will end up killing me." :D

Well, then if something like this would happen, it would be reported to the moderator, struck down by one of the rules, and you would ban their BBS account. Right?
